Taarabt - still the best

no question he is our most skilful player but even his biggest fans have to admit he can go missing, has been moody and sulky and has not been consistent since we came up
these are facts which can't be denied. Not comparing ability or positions but Park, Granero and Faurlin are consistent and Adel played better towards the end of last season. Have no problem with him but sometimes looks like he's not putting in 100%
Don't think he pushed aside, just needs to be more consistent at PL levelOriginally posted by Dale View PostMakes me sick the way Taarabt is treated pushed to the side for players that show less quality
Should be playing every match when fit
We forget what he is capable of on the field and can win games for us
Still by far our most skilled player

On a bad day can play just as bad as others if not the worst but on a good day can win games for us which we need right now

he won't want to get rid but Adel was by far and away our bes t player 2 years ago, that's not the case now. On Sunday, our shooting was excellent in the frst half, it was Friedal's brilliance that kept them in it, let's not forget that.
Agree though, Adel is part of the jigsaw but no longer a def to play every week. This is also a measure of our progress and how we've improved our quality. On that note, think Mbia is fit for tomorrow, so it would be good to see him play and also Adel and Samba, hopefully.Originally posted by LoftusRoadLad View PostThe season has only just started Adel will have his fair share of games ...who knows he could have been playing on Sunday and may have made a difference.
I really don't think Mark would wonna get rid of one of his best players.

Originally posted by Del View PostTaarabt is a very talented player obviously, but can be equally petulant, sulky, ineffectual when it matters. His work rate and team ethic improved under MH, but it took the best part of a season to have a positive impact.
Granero on the other hand, has come in with next to no preparation time and been thrown in to 3 of the hardest fixtures of the season in his first 3 games, and looked a class act. To look as good as he has and gel with Faulrin so quickly, against the calibre of opposition, ie money no object players, speaks volumes for his talent and potential.....
For anyone to overlook this to instead highlight the odd missed pass is quite frankly laughable. You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

I have a few problems with the theory that Taarabt is still our best midfield player. Firstly, I don't think I've ever seen him perform well away from home in the Premiership. In fact, with the exception of the last few home games last season, he's hardly made an impact in the top division. Secondly, as everyone knows, he has a terrible attitude and can be exceptionally lazy. Thirdly, at times he is careless, giving the ball away in his own half frequently.
I'm certainly not disputing the view that Adel is a terrific player when on form, but to say that he is our most important midfielder is to greatly exaggerate his importance to the squad.

talent is one thing, performing consistently is another. Park, Faurln and Granero have played well every time they put a Rangers shirt on. Has Adel?
Can't afford players who are inconsistent. The oppositon will be CONSISTENTLY difficult to beat. If he is more consistent, he an automatic choice, as on form, he'll score more goals than the other 3 put together

Tarbs is a great talent. MH like grafters though because he plays the safe game.
I really like Faurlin - as for Granny - it is too early to say.
What people seem to be forgetting is that we have won exactly zero league games so far with MH playing with his team. He has been backed to the hilt, so these players are hardly performing like Messi and Ronaldo.
Personally I would be playing our best talents, Cisse and Adel would be in my home starting line up every game when fit. But what do I know..... only that I couldn't have got that many less points than MH has with that starting line up.
It's all well and good saying Adel and Cisse may not press as much, but goals are pretty important too and pressing their goalie and defenders is less likely to win you games than having the best talents on the pitch. Berbatov won the Golden Boot in a Championship winning side and doesn't do any defensive work, so there is a balance.
Don't give me - Spurs was a good performance. We lost and they are rubbish this season. They will come mid table.
Adel will divide opinion, like Joey. But my opinion is we should be giving him some more pitch time.Last edited by silvercue; 25-09-2012, 04:45 PM.

adel will get his chance its a long season, for me for the great talent he is he gives the ball away far to much . granero though a much different type of player is our best bet. in the modern game adel is known as a luxury player , he can be a whiner and start moaning when things dont go his way then on his day a match winner. where we are at the moment we need 11 grafters and for me theres a few in front of him , its up to adel to knuckle down and add some work rate, tracking back ,,tackling to his game

Adel should be an automatic starter
In our cup team
Until the rest of the team becomes completely robust we cant really afford the luxury of playing him in premiership games, if he beats three players and bangs a goal in great but he currently only does that rarely and doesnt contribute effectively enough in other areas, hopefully the coaching team are working hard on this on the training ground to make him a more complete player, Hopefully Adel is taking this onboard and working hard to improve as well. The most naturally talented footballers quite often fail to fulfil their true potential where less gifted but hard working players go on to win hatfulls of medals because they apply themselvesits New Era number 8 i tell thee, bring on the fireworks
