  • Likelihood of Reading game being cancelled?

How wet is it in London? Heading down there today and the trains are well messed up due to all of the flooding. Do you think it's likely Wednesday's game might be postponed due to the weather/water-logged pitch?
    come on you r's!

No way - If it was then someone needs to wake up and do their job properly.

Water has gradually fallen - But we are prem team with a prem pitch now. Sorry NO excuses. Plenty of time to remove any water standing (If there is)

If you can get on an internet football forum to post a thread you must surely also be able to look at BBC weather and see it is bright and sunny in London?

Think you'll find Sunderland v Reading was called off last month because of a waterlogged pitch.

Being a 'prem team with a prem pitch' doesn't guarantee a game will go ahead.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Because it's been constantly raining for the last three days up here in Cheshire where sirduncs has set off from. Perhaps he's a bit concerned his journey may be in vain.

I've got a 1 and a half hour journey in the car to Salisbury, then a train into Waterloo and on to the Bush, be home just before 3 a.m., so yes, I'd like to be sure the game is'nt in doubt too:strive:
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble
Into the arms I love the most

We've actually had loads of games called off due to weather conditions in the past 5 years.
We had one last year due to waterlog and the year (two years?) before than in the winter we had 3 in a row called off.

LR does not have good drainage. if it rains a lot it will be called off.

though by the forecast - it wont be.

We are now in the prem - So as I said, its unlikely.

I've got a feeling that one of our games that was called off a few years back was a night game versus Reading........I found out as my Dad and I walked up Loftus Road.......

the flooding added another hour and a half to my journey to london from chester today. last night it took one of my mates 6 hours to accomplish the same journey.

in 24 hours we have had as much rain as they usually forecast in a month. however arriving in london it does not seem anywhere near as bad. but given how things are in other parts of the country, explains why i started this thread.

first game i ever went to see (rangers vs chelski back in the mid 90s) was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. once bitten, twice shy when the weather's crap.
