Hopefully Mbia may be fit enough for a run out before hte league match. If so, i'd prefer to rest Dyer.... never know how resilient his bones are and 2 games in 4 days may be a push, so rather keep him fresh for West ham if needed.
Would give the 'fringe' players and returning players from injury a run about to keep them fresh against decent-ish opposition, likes of Taraabt, Mbia (if fit), Diakite, Derry, Harriman, Ephraim and Dyer could feature. Really don;t want to lose another first teamer out to injury
I'd still play Granero and Faurlin. The more time they have together, the better they will get.
True, but i'd also say they are absolutely integral to the way we are playing at the moment and need to be wrapped up in cotton wool and preserved for our league games, until we possibly get to a serious round in this comp.
We also need to keep some of the fringe players ticking over and they also need gametime, especially when we seem to have players dropping like flies currently, they may be needed any time.
Doughty, Derry, Ephraim in there and Hulse/Campbell up front.
Cant afford to risk anymore injuries.
I can't see there being that many non 1st team squad players involved.
We won't want injuries, but i also think this will be a comp the owners and management team will be taking seriously so will put out a pretty strong team, albeit leaving a number of the first 11 out. That's the beauty of our squad now we have good players waiting in the wings.
Difficult one, play lots of 1st teamers and we continue to improve and get better as a unit. Also this cup is there for the taking in my opinion.
On the downside, we have lots of players out with hamstrings / muscle injures which take 2/3 weeks to recover. Any more injuries, especially at the back would give us a big problem. Wouldn't over do it with Nelsen, Faurlin, Dyer, Zamora, all players either getting on a bit or back from lengthy injuries. In the last 2 years we've lost Mackie and Faurlin with long term injuries in meaningless cup games. We'd be pretty gutted to lose another player in a cup game, that's not the be all and end all.
to be fair, it doesnt matter whether its a league or cup game, theres always going to be a risk of injury. id rather have them playing together consistantly and getting that understanding they have to be even better.

Not sure who he'll play but think it will quite a strong side. I think M.H. & T.F fancy a trip to wembley and the European football that comes with it if you win this trophy
I agree. If fit, Mbia, Diakite and Tarbs will def play, probably Cisse and Mackie, then a mixture of regulars and 1 or 2 kids. Either way, we'll have a strong side and should have too much for them. They play on Satuday v Newcastle, so I think they'll have lots of 1st choice players missing. My 25/1 looks good.
I know he's young, but with our defensive injuries mounting, I'd have a look at Sam Magri
