  • The next 15... time will tell...

In my humble opinion, the next 15 games ( taking us up to the end of the year ) will be the true test of how far we have come..

That sequence includes only 2 which we wouldn't realistically expect any points from ( The Arsenil and ManUre, both away )

Whilst I appreciate the comments made about playing well and not winning following the Chelscum and Spuds games, I certainly feel a lot better going into this sequence playing some decent football.. and lets face it, it's been some time since we've been able to watch the Hoops passing the ball around with any kind of confidence..

This year, for me anyway, is not really about the results against the top 5 or 6 ( although its genuinely refreshing to be giving them a game ) its about taking points from the likes of Wigan, Villa, Narwich etc ( and the new boys obviously ).. which we really failed to do last year...

My one worry.. given the spate of injuries over the last few weeks is that we go into the Cup game against Reading strong and pick up serious injuries to the already thin first team... ala Mackie at Blackburn.. Ale at MK in previous years..

    Anyway.. all the best!

    Regards

yes as i've said in another thread, it's not so much what top 8 teams that we play (where any points we get are bonus) it's the teams we 'should' be getting points against which are the clutch below so your scumderlands, sjokes, villains etc., this is where we came up short last term and this is where we are really going to have to bed in some serious points and GD.

much stall is being put on the wet spam game, but it's hardly panic stations if we don't get a result (although i'd like us to get our home form back again...) as we then have a sequence, as you so eloquently put it, of what i'd term as eminently winnable games.

as someone else said, the season kind of starts with the start of october for us, really.
    come on you r's!

The thing is with the way our players are dropping like flies we may have to make some big moves in the January transfer window again! Five defenders out and not much cover at forward could put a damper on all of our high expectations!

If they bring is Vidic and Villa as cover i won't be complaining.

Seriously though, i agree with the OP completely. Certain games we're not reaslistically expected to get anything from and we've had 3 on the bounce and played admirably in all of them (bar first 20 mins at City).
