  • Should Cisse start against West Ham?

For me he has to start. Up top with Bobby Z.

Amazingly some are criticising him. Apparently as he is on the bench he must not be training very well was one comment i noted on him yesterday!

Cisse has been abysmal so far this season. Appalling against Swansea and Norwich - constantly offside and in truth didn't look particularly interested. Looked a bit sharper when he came on against Chelsea, but was disappointing again against Spurs. A bit worrying.

Thanks for answering for me, strange how he couldn't post this and argue my post, instead of starting a new thread.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

        Im with you.

Midfield & Forward line vs Wet Spam of:

        Park Granero Faurlin Hoilet
        Zamora Cisse

        Is my preferred choice.

I want to see Hoillet and Zamora up front again.

No argument with the Norwich game but he's otherwise barely had a run in the side in his proper position. Replacing Zamora with him was an error by MH, he simply cannot hold the ball up in the same way and if he is to succeed like that he needs a stream of runners supporting him the way Defoe has with Bale and Lennon.

Djib may have a very specific skill set but we all know that what he does do he does excellently. Let's not beat him up with what he's not.

Yep. Home game, no excuses. Got some proper attacking talent so let's take the team out of third gear and go for a proper spin.

He'll get a game on Wednesday against Reading. I think maybe MH will take stock after that.
There was nothing wrong with the way we played yesterday and a repeat of that performance or anywhere near will see us win on Monday. Not sure MH will make any changes for Monday unless he has to.
Cisse is not a player that will chase down defenders and has a lazy ish style. He does wander offside and at the moment with BZ scoring and with the others playing well, I think he may stay on the bench.

it's also interesting that already we seem more disciplined than last year and unfortunately Djib's suspect temperament caused us problems. Also, with our disgraced ex captain away, there's every chance we'll keep 11 men on the field which you would hope increases our chances of winning more games.

Cisse hasnt looked his normal sharp self, but has he really had a chance? At the end of the day, if he gets a chance, he will put it away. His goals were massive for us last year. Even when we werent playing that great, such as Stoke, even Liverpool up to the last 15 mins, you could reply o him to put the chances away. If hes on the pitch, theres every chance you will get a goal - but he has to play alongside Zamora. The thing is that we played so well vs spurs, Hughes will probably be tempted to stick with the same side and formation

You could also say there's more chance of winning games if you include your best goalscorer in the side.

                        This.

Some of our fans seem to have short memories, the man saved our ar$es last year. As Ive said countless times, start him up top with Bobby & the goals will come- its that simple.

Yes, so that the next time Zamora sets him up with a free shot from 10 yards we can see if he can be a bit quicker to shoot using his left foot if needed!

Read the title of the thread. It talks of our next Premiership game and whether Cisse should start. Not my opinion on him overall or how he has performed in the few games this season which you gave at the bottom of a long post in a previous thread. Although i doubt many got that far down that post given the first few lines of reading were a new found cure for insomnia.

I agree. Cisse's goals helped keep us up, no question about that but he also made our situation more difficult by beng suspended for 7 games out of the 15 he was at the club for.
He's a top player, no problem with him playing, just want him to score goals again and work hard and let's see the body language of a player who really wants it.
If our midfield is going to have 55% - 60% possession and 600 passes a game, then chances and goals are going to come. Cisse is the best natural goalscorer we've got
