  • Anton Ferdiand & Ryan Nelsen ( & Cesar )

I thought Anton Ferdiand was very good on Saturday and I believe a lot of that was down to Ryan Nelsen. Like last season Clint Hill came in & talked to Anton to help guide him during games, well Nelsen did the same and Anton looks very good when he has that leader next to him.

As for Nelsen, I don't know how to keep this short as I rate him so highly, he will never get the credit he deserves but he will never ask for it because he's a great humble guy, & a super leader. You know what you're going to get with Ryan & that's a very consistent level of performance from him every game he plays. I used to love watching him & Samba for Blackburn. But i'm lucky enough to see him at QPR! If he's playing alongside Ferdiand or MBia we've got an extremly good player who you can trust 100%.

Talking of trust, I knew we'd get a clean sheet on Saturday & many more clean sheets to come this season because we have one of the best in Cesar, not a lot needs to be said apart from we're very lucky & Julio seems like he's got zero ego & is a top guy. I don't remember the last time I trusted a goalie at QPR 100%, maybe Paul Jones (That was some time ago)

There you have it, more of my optimism & my complimentary words to our great football club!

    Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
    And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Not knocking Green but the whole defence might have felt more assured and confident with Cesar behind them, only time will tell. Excellent defensive display last Saturday.

Agree with every word of that, let's just hope that he (Nelsen) can stay injury-free, as he has had a fair few over the years. Isn't it fantastic to contemplate our defensive capabilities now; when you remember how many times last season we were put to the sword mainly due to our defensive frailties, and midfield shortcomings, it's positively dreamland now. So happy and looking forward to this season!!

The Ferdinand thing is similar to when we had Dan Shittu first time round. When he played alongside Clarke Carlisle he looked like a very good defender because CC coaxed him through games with his experience and intelligence. When Clarke was out Dan looked totally lost, constantly out of position and zero confidence in his own ability.
Hill and Nelson might be slowing old pros (in Nelson's case still a very good premier league one of course) but the influence they have over someone like Anton cannot be underestimated. Hopefully, in time, Anton's game will develop along with his confidence so that he doesn't need the crutch of someone else's belief and coaxing to perform

against stoke i'd like to see hill and nelson purely for the battle.
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
          Lovejoy: "No?!"
Soldier: "GOD DAMNIT THAT GUYS GOOD!"

No pace tough. We'd get ruined through the middle. Shame, players like that are a dying breed in the prem. love seeing Hill and Nelsen whack in a big tackle!! I say!
