    Modern day fans eh
The ones I know that claim to be fans of the modern Chelsea have been to Stamford Bridge less times than me. They seem to know all about Chelsea's "history" but sadly only since the take over........anything that dates back to Santa's time is a) irrelevant and b) too old to count. The old school guys that I grew up with at least share some good story's and some proper banter but simply won't pay to go and watch the crook's team.

It seems however that MK has a decent knowledge of his team and can have a good debate without turning to insults - so maybe he is the "best of both worlds"

They all "used to have a season ticket but cant afford it now". **** me judging by the amount of times Ive heard that from people around my age they must have had 80k season ticket holders in the 90s!
As Blue says, i also have pals that give it large but Ive literally been to Stamford Bridge more than they have. Doughnuts really, just laugh at 'em with their comments like "why are you rich but still $hit? - gormless bunch. Wouldnt swap my little old Rangers for anybody.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

just another little chelsc.u.m supporting kid who lives nowhere near the club coming on here giving it the big 1. go and support your local team mkdons u wrongun.
these are the type of fans they attract since abromavich came along trying to buy everything insight. none of them would be around if they were still the crap team they was 20 yearsago. there never have any class no matter how much they try and buy it.

The ones I'm talking about used to go home and away every week - it's not that they can't afford to go now, they just can't stand the modern "fans" they attracted and would rather boil their heads than sit and listen to them. They still rip it out of me for being Rangers but at least they admire my RTID attitude and honestly think they are not patronising me when they say how much they admire me for going home and away when we were league 1 and Championship and now deserve the chance to watch us back in the "big time"

That Local team of mine still played at Selhurst Park when I moved to MK, its the people that support MK that are the wronguns my dad took me when I was 2 and have had a season ticket since I was 4 I had no choice it was Chelsea or no one so if Chelsea were in the conference now I would still be going and if they end up in the conference in a few years down the line I will still be going then.

On average Chelsea are the 5th best supported team in history and have quite a few attendances of 60,000+ so we can't all be Post Roman/97 fans

Sadly I fear it will be very difficult to replicate the hostile atmosphere of last October due to the club's ludicrous 'family stand' policy. In fact I doubt it will be sold out because of this...

That's easy to say pal, but if it came down to it, it would be a very different story.

Paying good money to go to Grimsby of Plymouth on a cold Tuesday night knowing full well your teams most probably going to loose again.

I'm not so sure the vast majority of your so called fans would still be making the trip. It's a different kettle of fish paying to go week in week out when your looking at nailed on wins.

A quite harsh and hostile remark if you ask me.

But it sure came straight from the heart! That´s a positive, it´s healthy.:=):

True but I can't speak for others I know I would go, I don't go because I expect to see them win I go because I want to watch my team play, of course supporting a team in the 80's was a lot easier and cheaper than it is now so you can't really compare the eras but one thing Chelsea fans did do well was travel in numbers the home attendances were poor but away from home we were amongst the best travellers.

Why at school did all the thick kids support Chelsea? Seriously when I think back to my school days, it was always the ones with the Indian ink tattoos and they were the first kids to smoke. Just an observation that's all.

                          1) You still haven't sold out
                          2) The atmosphere in the cup game was non existent
                          3) All the players have played in a proper hostile atmosphere Napoli, Istanbul etc
                          4) In the hostile atmosphere our 9 men outplayed your 11
                          5) Every single one of the songs you have sung at Terry have been done before and when everyone sings them it becomes the norm, no hostility or hatred just a regular occurrence.

I have seen comments like more hostile than Istanbul, you lot need to get out more I've been to Instanbul and Napoli the only way Shepards Bush compares to Istanbul is the amount of Kebab places.

I do also remember unlike many celery munchers when they were involved in the semi finals of the FA cup in 92 I think they managed a lower crowd in the top flight than even little old QPR managed! 7900!home to the saints . So young man you telling me any other "big club " where this would happen?

But you didn't win did you, it doesn't matter whether a team outplays another team for 90 mins if the other team is the one that scores the goal they are the ones who get the 3 points and win and we did just that so shut it.
