Some great points raised here, Man U are the only club that would truly benefit as pointed out in an earlier post.
The funny thing is, if TF continues his assault on the Asian market our spending power might be far greater than a lot of the more estlabished clubs.
Additionally, building a new stadium is our future, the revenue will enable us to compete, those suggesting a smaller stadium or staying at LR are condemning the future of our club.Last edited by californiahoop; 07-09-2012, 08:10 AM.Kept the faith!

I thnk we really need to take a check on this belief we are becoming big in Asia. As I have pointed out in a few threads - Park is nobody outside of SK and most (95%) of football merchandise in Asia is fake. Let's look at the revenue and profit from shirt sales in Asia at the end of the season and it won't be much. Also, fans there like big clubs that play in big stadiums. Our appeal is limited and a bit of a gimmick at the moment.
As for TV - the overseas TV deal does not allow us extra money from extra viewing, so that makes no difference at all.
Also, Park will be gone in 2 or 3 years.
The bottom line is we do not have the revenue streams to compete in the PL with FFP, nor do a few other clubs, like Wigan etc. They will be replaced by clubs with bigger fanbase and stadiums.
It isn't only the top clubs - Fulham and Wigan have benefitted from monies outside of their football related revenue.
The truth is that FFP is actually the opposite of fair.
It will not only be Utd that do well, Arsenal will as they turn over a million every home game - that makes a big difference. Man City might get some "interesting" sponsorship deals from their owners fellow countrymen, but the real winners are the elite and they will grow so far away from the rest it will spoil the league.
Something that should worry fans is that once FFP kicks in, clubs like UTD will start to push for their own TV rights. This will destroy the PL and end up with an SPL scenario and eventually a European Super League spawning from the Champions League.Last edited by silvercue; 07-09-2012, 08:32 AM.
