  • Sick our our negativity in away games

Till when we will keep saying oh the players need time to gel? I am talking about the way we handle away games not the result.

This is the third game we concede a goal within 15 minutes. I don't know why we don't have the courage to attack in away games from the begining and let the oppositions score first easily. Why not take the intiative? It's a problem since last season. I mean why Norwich with players mostly from the Championship play positive in away games? Confidence? Even Southampton were attacking at the Eitihad Satdium. Some will say we played well last season, but the only reason was because City were under pressure of losing the league. Ok we started playing well for a while in the 2nd half, but was that enough?

Man City weren't that good. We gave them space and were very negative from the begining. Why sit back defending? This is the Premier League not the Championship.

As for the defence why didn't Mark Hughes start with Onuoha who had a good game at Norwich instead of clueless Ferdinand? Ferdinand is one of the players who were remaining in the transfer market after the takover last season and Warnock signed (alongside Young & Traore, Barton). Traore is the only good one we brought.

Green looked lacking confidence because he knows he will be replaced soon (don't blame him). Hughes Shouldn't have signed him and Cesar should've come earlier from the begining of the season not now.

During the whole summer Hughes kept buying a TOO MANY midfielders and neglected the defence who leaked horrible goals last season and only brought Nelsen and Mbia has now come late. Nine goals in 3 games!!!

Hughes bought a whole team just like he did with Man City. So as results stay horrible he will continue buying a lot of players even in January instead of workinhg on stablizing the current team. Mark my words he will bring 4-5 more in Januray.

Hughes has poor match reading. Why leave Hoilett who could've used his skills to create opportunities and win us a couple of fouls on the bench? He brought 7-minutes Dyer instead!!! Can someone tell me why?

All in all I have been sick of our negativity in away games since last season. Don't mind losing but with some positivity I am sure we can win some of them. All we need is have confidence in away games and take intitiatives before the oppositions.

Soryy for what I have said. Many will #### me off now but I do not care anymore because I am sick of this. Can't hide my feelings anymore.

Calm down Yousef, it's not so bad!

I agree with your points about signing too many midfielders and not enough defensive cover. I also was a bit bemused as to why Hughes didn't bring on Hoilett and Cisse when the game was there to be won. But at the end of the day we lost away to probably the best team in country and we gave a good account of ourselves. I'm also pretty sure that if we play like we did in the second half, with Mbia and Cesar to come into the starting line up, we will do ok this year.

agree with most of that Yousef and I think a few more will if our away form continues in the same vane. More worring to me is the lone striker system at home
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble
Into the arms I love the most

We have to start to expect more from the team - and not be happy just to be in this league regardless of results. A defeat is a defeat, no points, NOT good cause to be happy. When Blackpool were in the Prem their fans and media alike were heaping praise on them for giving it a go and being plucky losers. The expectation was very low. We don't and should have the same tolerance from the media and our fans. We've got top owners, players and Manager, who had half of last season, a complete summer and within reason an open cheque book. Time to expect more.

I appreciate what your saying mate but it's not that simple is it?

We can't sign 12 new players over the course of a transfer window and then say "there you go, spent a load of cash, now go beat Man City away". These things take time and the team will take a while to gel, judging by yesterday it will also take a while for Hughes to work out who his best 11 are. For me I think we should be aiming for mid table this year and I don't think many mid table sides will take any points away from the Etihad stadium this year.

Heeeeereeeeeeeeeee we go again FFs . Can we not just just make one thread for all this negativity FFs instead of clogging up the whole site full crap.
Hughes had the tactics spot on to play the best defensive attacking team and that's what he did. If we brang on cisse or hoilett before the defeat wOuld have been a lot heavier. Swp can tackle well hoilett can't swp also tracks back. AJ also tracks back cisse doesn't we needed a balance and Hughes found it. At the end of the day we lost to a better team.

Agreed first half i thought we respected City way to much but is that really down to Mark Hughes? I suggest not. He wouldn't have told them to play that deep and could be seen numerous times urging the players to get up the pitch, Bobby Zamora is a huge negative for this as he drops far to deep and gives us no out ball most of the time. The players have to take the blame for playing so deep first half. Second half we took the game to City, which suggests Mark Hughes got into the players at half time and we seen the results.

I thought Onouha would start too but to be fair apart from 45 mins last week he's looked more than dodgy himself, also the space Norwich had in the centre of our defence last week in the second half was ridiculous, but i suppose that was all Anton's fault? As for Traore being good, he put in a League Two performance at Norwich and it wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't involved for a month or two.

Do you think Hughes would have signed Green if he knew Cesar was available? Stupid point!

I don't think he's bought 'too many' midfielders but agree we needed a more defensive options, i suspect this will happen in January with a few moving on, this will be the only transfer business we do, defensively. Your knowledge of Hughes and our transfer dealings this summer is poor. Tell me how we as a club can release 14+ players and not replace them without buying 'a whole team'? This has been hugely missed in general by lots of people and the media. Fans are moaning certain players aren't good enough then when we ship them all out and replace them with players of good quality people are moaning we're signing to many players and worried about spending 'so much money'. The mind boggles!!

I agree Hoilett should have been used instead of Dyer, however we don't know the full story, maybe Junior was carrying a slight knock etc. There are a lot of things we don't know about as fans.

As for our negativity, i think that will change from now on, after our second half performance, but remember this is the Premier League, a point away from home is a good point. David Moyes admitted last night he made changes at 0-0 to win the game and it caused them to lose.
