What a terrible day it's been.

Apologies for (momentarily) diverting the main thrust of this thread but what is this about two players due to be sacked for leaving early????

Supporting qr used to be like a family, we used to actually care about our players. Now it is "he cant ply, lets try and get rid of him"

Blimey some posters are completely ignorant and clearly clueless.

We all know who I refer to on that one.

As said, wealth has no impact on Depression, which can devastate lives so much to lead people to take their own.

        However, 2 points;

Firstly, I've heard no confirmation anywhere that the problem is depression other than random speculation, so everyone could be barking up the wrong tree.

Secondly, even if it a form of depressio, or anything else for that matter, how can anyone say "I can't see him playing for us ever again"...!

Ridiculous statement as I'm sure whatever problems he has, be they mental or family issues, they can be treated / eased with support so to say he'll never play again based on speculation is naïve at best.

There have been several posters that want them kicked out, I'm certainly not saying they will be, in fact much the opposite.

I think you may have misjudged the tone of my post. Easily done on the internet.

would anyone really post a remark and demonstrate their lack of both intelligence and compassion just to look funny or get bites?

            now THAT is sad
I don't care about morals 'cause the world's insane and we're all to blame anyway

In fairness we are all interested or none of us would be posting on this thread. Even among more caring supporters there is considerable personal concern for Diakite but also it must be admitted footballing concern that someone we all rate very, very highly as a player may or may not be available to us. But I am sure all but a very small minority, when they step back and think about it, will realise that the human side of this situation is by far and away the most important.

I have no idea what is wrong with him. never said i did know. But was told a few weeks ago that he had problems and this has since been found to be true.

So what is it that is wrong with him? If it's depression, then to say he'll never play for us again is a gross exageration. What else can it be? What could possibly be so wrong with someone that they can't play again?

Yes I am more then happy to and would have done earlier except it was a very long day yesterday and I decided to have a lie in this morning hence the delay

As I posted in my first post on this thread I heard as did countless others who were in the concourse at Man City before the game started that the player has serious problems and has been given time off by the club to hopefully get himself back on track in life

This has been commented on other message boards as well and I am not quite sure why the matter is considered a taboo subject and should be hushed up

As it happens I sincerely hope that the rumour has been massively exaggerated and that he comes back to us and we get to enjoy watching his talent as soon as he feels it is the right time for him to return

If he is suffering from depression then I hope the club support him in every way possible as I am sure they will as I have seen what this illness can ultimately end in and is not something that should ever be taken lightly

Exactly my point! If and at this stage it is still an if the rumours turn out to be true then the number one priority should be to support samba through the battle he has ahead even if that means he doesn't play again and is given every penny that his contract says he his then as human beings we should not be demanding the return of his signing on fee etc.

Let's follow boltons example of how they handled the muamba situation ..

Can't believe this was not picked up by our medical staff when we signed him in the summer. He is on a long term contract on very good money. Will we be able to get any money back from him via medical insurance?

Certainly explains his absence for part of pre season and his poor performances again Swansea and Norwich.

Sad story as I had high hopes for the kid.

Will be interesting to see if Hughes puts him in the 25 man squad?

Can't waste a space for someone who is going to be unavailable for many games until January before he might go to The Africa Cup of Nations.

Cheers Isle. Totally agree with what you say, really hope its not as big a deal as the rumours suggest and that the club are helping him in every way possible to ensure he comes back to be the quality player we all know he is.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

As you say that is nothing new. It was on the official site. It was said that he had some personal issues to deal with. But no evidence at all about depression. If anything after reading it you got the impression that he had some family issues to deal with e.g. someone close passing away.

if he had depression, why would he not play for us again? He could be back for chelsea. No one knows. Its nothing more than disruptive to say that he chances are he won't play for us again
