As I posted in my first post on this thread I heard as did countless others who were in the concourse at Man City before the game started that the player has serious problems and has been given time off by the club to hopefully get himself back on track in life
This has been commented on other message boards as well and I am not quite sure why the matter is considered a taboo subject and should be hushed up
As it happens I sincerely hope that the rumour has been massively exaggerated and that he comes back to us and we get to enjoy watching his talent as soon as he feels it is the right time for him to return
If he is suffering from depression then I hope the club support him in every way possible as I am sure they will as I have seen what this illness can ultimately end in and is not something that should ever be taken lightly

If any truth I'd terminate his contract , take back his signing on fee and have Nancy investigated to see if they withheld any information when we bought him.

Am sorry but I find the latest posts by Hammersmith, Isleworth etc disingenuous. Though they don't actually say it, the clear implication of their earlier posts - and of some others floating around - is that Diakite is suffering something really serious such as severe syzophrenia (spelling?) - not necessarily that particular mental illness, but nevertheless one that is really, really serious. If it was something like depression you would not question whether he would play for us again because as most of us know depression comes and goes without much predictability. Churchill for instance would talk about his "black dog" that would leave him unable to do anything at all, then suddenly vanish. The suggestion, clearly, is that it this is a condition that doesn't lift and is virtually un-treatable. I'm not having a go at you for posting because as already said it is an internet gossip site, so no one should get too pompous. But If the suggestion is that he has more serious mental health problems then I think you should say it - or if, alternatively, you don't have any further information than we already knew I don't quite see what the point of the original post was.

I simply said IF true, then we might not see him a Rangers shirt for a while. Who knows? I think we all agree we'd love to have him back playing the way he did last season. I am simply relaying what I was told, by someone who is credible and one I would trust. Will i divulge their name? No. You can either believe it or not. What's the massive deal? Whatever his personal issues are, of course like any Rangers fans wants it to be sorted as soon as possible.
Looking at it from a squad perspective. Hughes will have to name a 25 man squad this week. Can he include someone who might not be available for many of the games?
Depression is something that cannot be helped overnight. It has no time frame.First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.
