  • MH explains Taarabt absence

MARK Hughes has revealed Adel Taarabt was left out of the squad for QPR's defeat to Manchester City for tactical reasons.

With midfielders Ali Faurlin and Esteban Grenero short of fitness and unable to last 90 minutes, Hughes felt he needed to provide sufficient cover on the bench.

That meant there was no room for Taarabt or centre-back Clint Hill among the seven substitutes.

“We've got a lot of guys in the squad and everybody's fit at the moment so it's difficult to fit everybody on the bench,” said the Rangers boss.

Dont agree with MH tactics on this issue

Cant have a player of his calibre not even make the bench but have Dyer on the bench and even bring him on

    Does make me wonder

Makes sense to me, had cover for forwards and wide but needed workers to cover the centre mids. Maybe Adel ahead of makie but I ain't the manager plus mackie can cover a few positions

I think we just need to give Hughes time, he now has a squad of players to work with of his choosing. Let's see how he does from now until the end of the season. Are encouraging signs so far.

All managers make mistakes. Even Ferguson, Mourinho, Wenger etc.

Hughes started slowly at fulham and Blackburn and look what he ended up with when he gets his team settled . People need to take a chill pill and get behind him Ffs

Dyer played very well when he came on and looked sharp, always willing to run at players. Tarrabt whilst talented slows the play down and only plays for himself and simply doesn't work hard enough.

If the stories are true and he has come home on the train with Traore then get rid before he drags others into his unprofessional ways.

I don't, but I DO know he'd have been better than SWP, who must have thought he was still playing for City the number of times he passed the ball to them !
To be fair, Adel hasn't really shone in an Away game since Cardiff. I've no problem with him starting on the bench Away, but he 's still a potential game changer/winner.
                At Home, I'd start him.

His backtracking & tackling has improved greatly over the years and more so under Hughes.
But it still might not be enough for some, especially against such illustrious opponents.

I do appreciate he better suited at Home, but not even on the bench ?

TBH. If Tarbs and Traore returned home without permission/in a strop - then that's worse than anything Barton has done during his time at the Rangers..... particularly in the case of Adel as this would be the second time.

As much I'm not a fan of Barton's ability to always be in trouble..... and his poxy Hollywood passes - at least he gives (gave?) a $h1t.

Barton has already been cast as "evil vermin" by the righteous on here m8 so dont go confusing them as their brains will overload.

Adel will not play many away games because he is a luxury player, away from home Hughes wants players who are prepared to work hard and also defend ( except Ferdinand who is ****)
I think M.H.has made the right choice in this area we must trust him.

Today was always going to be a game for grafters who are prepared to run their socks off chasing the opposition down and harrying them trying to get the ball off them. It wasn't a game for ponsy primadonnas who throw their toys out the pram if they don't get the ball enough or their tricks and flicks don't come off.

Adel would've had a sulk on today during the match when outclassed and not grafted imo, hence not involved.

Also for those saying his tracking back has improved... yes it has, but that's because it used to be non existent! Do you honestly see him being wasteful on the edge of their box then busting a gut 60 yards back if needed... i dont, but i can imagine it from SWP, Park, Dyer, Mackie....

No brainer decision for me and i think the exact reason Hoilett didn;t start either.
