Imo BZ is always a must, regardless of the opposition.
West Ham may play unattractive football, but it's effective. Arsenal play pretty stuff, but it's not really effective. Arsenal could learn a thing or two from West Ham. They have a good centre forward in Giroud, but they're not using him well enough...

It was obvious Alardyce would go for him because he is a manger living in the 70's and cant play a different way. He's always had a lump up front and as said above this is a match made in heaven for all the wrong reasons.
Just got back, Carroll and Cole are like night and day, but I guess thats what a 35 million pound England striker gives you!
Quite funny that you think BFS can't play a different way, I thought the problem even at Bolton was nobody knew what they'd do? Lump it to Big Kevin Davies, or play through Hierro, Okocha, Stelios etc. (hence bringing in Benayoun, Jarvis, and continuing to play Taylor and Vaz Te) Made some great moves through Vaz Te today, Fulham did exactly what Villa did first day, keep the ball in their own half and get bullied whenever they got over half way.
Oh well, hopefully Sparky gets his tactics better today than Jol did! Its only Man City after all :=):
