It was obvious Alardyce would go for him because he is a manger living in the 70's and cant play a different way. He's always had a lump up front and as said above this is a match made in heaven for all the wrong reasons.

Carroll might be old fashioned etc etc but wd massively improve any team in the league outside the obvious big boys. West Ham was one of the teams predicted to struggle but can't see them going down with Carroll. This season is shaping up to be a lot harder for us than some predicted.
