Reason Not To Panic After Just 2 games

As far as i can tell, nobody is panicking? We may very well regret conceeding that late goal to Plymouth if we miss out on the playoffs by a point or something, but fact is, Home Park is a ground we always struggle to get a win from, so a draw was too be expected. I suppose it was the manor in which we drew that has some people annoyed or dissapointed, but nobody is calling for heads to roll or fearing we're out of the playoff running already??

What annoys me about the Tarrabt situation is that when on loan last season, he looked class for us ON THE WING. I get the feeling he's being lumped up front to accomodate other players like Buzsaky, Rowlands and Faurlin (when he's fit) as playing Tarrabt on the left wing would mean one or 2 of them would be missing out. I base this purely on the fact that Mahon has started the last 2 games for us so is obviously liked in that destroyer role by Madge, hopefully Faurlin can do a similar job and even better so it means a start in place of Mahon.

Pete- You also mentioned a new striker may be arriving in 4-6 weeks, which, would have me assuming it'll be a loan. The problems we face there, are that if we loan a Prem youngster who turns out to be mustard and fires us into the Prem...they arent ours and then it's back to square one if we cant sign them on the perm!

I agree at the moment that there is no need to panic. However your post seems to safely assume that we will get better and move up the table. There is a big possibility that we could end up doing the opposite. So although there is no need to panic, at the same time there is definitely no need to be content.

aint no panic, just disbelief and frustration that the striker situation hasnt been addressed when its been so plainly apparent for bout last 8 months that we have a problem in that position. Why leave it till now when we are dropping points because of it? it ****ed up our chances last season and may well do so again this season. Just staggering disbelief that these so called business experts cant see that if they want to get to prem and rake in some serious money then they gotta invest first. West Brom, Sheff Utd and others are spending a few million on one player to fill there striking position while we try to do everything on the cheap. Seems clubs like that shop in Marks and Spencers while we go to poundland.

Not panacking......just a tad dissapointed thats all.

You've hit the nail on the head fella. I looked at the opening 7 games and thought there should be about 15points on the board there. Expect 4 to 6 points off those two games. I'm not panicing just thought that by nicking easy points off these will cover other potential slip ups later in the season. Now we've not got that cushion!

Yes but the majority of the time he played out on the wing. I understand he played up there and scored, but that doesnt make him a striker. Tarrabt has too much skill and class to offer the team to be wasted up front when he is clearly a creator/ supplier rather than somebody who'll finish the moves.

Not panicing but there are not going to be many more worse teams than Blackpool and Plymouth.

The real worry is the 1 goal a game, and against Blackpool we were lucky to get that and on that front nothing seems to have changed from last season.

Very underhwhelmed by Magiltons selections and tactics so far. As to Writtle's point about last season. I think all our wins under Dowie were against teams in the bottom 8 at that time, again the fixture computer gave us a fairly easy start.

What has he done at forest to make anyone at W12 think it was not a good deal ? the fact he has been a sub in the two league games so far say it was a cracking deal.

I just hope it doesn't take too much longer before J and J relise that MAHON AND LEGS CANNOT PLAY IN THE SAME TEAM!!! STATIC AND SOLID AS OAK TREES!
Until Faurlin and Rowly are back, I'd stick Taarabt/Ephraim out on the left wing, and Buzz in the middle with ONE of the two tree-trunks.

AND WHAT'S CONNOLLY DOING ON THE POXY BENCH, FFS? However good Hall was, Connolly will always be a completely different class at CB.

I agree,

GM & ML should not run the midfield at QPR. pick one of them and play him alongside Buzsaky. Perhaps if we are lucky, Furlin can defend as well as they can, but provide extra creativity.

Connolly should be in the side ahead of Hall. He is the better defender and is comfortable in possesion of the ball.

Taarabt is a winger and will create plenty of chances from the wings. He is good enough to beat the full back with skills, get to the byline and pick out a teammate.

Selling Blackstock was a good deal, as pointed out, he had 12 months left and was content to see out his contract with a hit & miss season. Had he stayed he would have scored goals in patches including a strong run-in to put himself in the shop window.

It could be that QPR do not need a new striker. Perhaps if they give Pellicori a few games he might be the answer.
