It's all speculation, although agree with Matty, it was kind of flagged up.

Beginning to think that this is where quality backroom staff could play a big part. What with Joey saga, confidence players like SWP and Rob Green, keeping an eye on Adel and now this (possibly) it does show how having a quality shrink (aka sports psychologist) on board could help. We did have one, no idea if he's still around. I'm old enough to remember Liverpool's great days and a lot of people said that the support back stage was a massive key for a lot of players. They didn't have sports psychologists then, but they did have people who effectively did the same job. What you want is a family, home from home. Putting the back room staff together is really important I reckon.

I agree looked like he had problems before the start of the season played no games on tour of Malaysia then had problems during Ramadam? Hasn't played anything like we saw last year in first 2 games, in fact he was very poor at Norwich, really hope its nothing that can't be sorted soon and he gets back to what we saw last season, he could really be a great force in this team we are building , hope he's not going to turn into a dud,

He played a couple in Asia and looked superb making typical runs past 4 or 5 players.

He's a DM as well as CB.

Of course, but for the last two years - as I understand it - he has been played as a centre half. If only going on the gaping hole in our squad I am assuming he has been bought as a defender rather than a midfielder, though with Diakite now in trouble we cd prob do with a Mbia in both positions!

He wasn't at the game v Swansea or Norwich, so who ever replaces him v Man City, at least we will have 11 players on the field.

I hope he gets sorted soon, as I thought we would be a better team with him in it, but who knows now with all the new signings and Ale coming back.

He has apparently been chosen to play for Mali next week (think it's September 7)

just goes to show those posters saying "why do we need another midfielder?" were being naive - the modern day footballer is like a highly trained racehorse - or overpaid popstar, depending on your point of view - and is so fragile you just need a massive squad of really good players, not just a decent team and a bunch of reserves to make up the numbers as of old.
