  • QPR sign Sam Magri

Sam Magri is poised to complete a move to QPR.

The Pompey youngster is currently at the Premier League club’s training ground finalising details of a surprise switch.

Magri will undergo a medical later this afternoon before signing a two-year deal.

The 18-year-old from Fratton made his Blues debut earlier this month in the Capital One Cup clash at Plymouth.

However, the life-long Pompey fan has been unable to break into the first-team set-up during the League One programme and now QPR have swooped for his services.

Thanks Padstow, never heard of him, but this should stop some of the BS going round that we are only signing old players.

That says he has been unable to break into the Pompey first team - which if you consider how short of players they have been, suggests he's not that good?

Eh, some players faces don't fit. Been plenty of class players been released from clubs and come good. Not saying this kid is going to be one of those exceptions. But surely if Rigg and the club has scouted him, he deserves a chance at the very least?

Only 18 so maybe they felt he wasn't quite ready.

Not writing the kid off but it just seems odd when Pompey didn't even have 11 fit players at the start of the season.

Saw on one of the Pompey MB's that he was under a contract where they had to pay him big wages if he played in league games. Not sure if this is true or not, but would explain why he didn't 'break' into their first team.

Yeah he was on trial at Liverpool (Putting 2 & 2 together I take it our ex Liverpool scouts are the reason behind this)

                        And he's a centre back
                        Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                        And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO
