“In my opinion, the current situation within the club is this: Élie Baup is the shepherd, the squad are the sheep but there is no dog to help the lost ones rejoin the flock. Joey Barton is that guy.”

oh he's a dog alright but helping lost ones rejoin the flock? joey barton to provide squad harmony?

          mmm..

          yeah, that'll happen!

french football looks up to the PL quite a bit. L'Equipe recently ran a story claiming the likes of owen, beckham, lampard, terry, gerard as some of the best footballers never to have won the world cup. i presume l'OM see anyone from the PL as a great signing.

I think this will be great for Joey. And I sincerely hope that when the loan is over he's allowed back into the QPR squad.

Anyone got the pic posted here a while ago (when Joey was first linked to Marseille) with a fan going absolutely mental (in a bad way!) at the thought of Joey moving?

Marseille has the reputation of the criminel capital of France.

Does Marseille have have a good selection of bender bars for Joey to get beaten up outside?

Dozens. If you read tourist comments for Marseilles, they all begin "tourists beware."
