  • Someone please pinch me or slap my chops with a wet fish...

I can't quite believe the calibre of payer that we are signing (or appear to be) and we've also nearly got rid of that vile beast Joey Barton and hopefully his cancerous legacy of negative publicity will fade away when we are at Wembley in the LC Final and he is watching from the sidelines in France as he has yet again failed to live up to hope and expectation.....

Feel very positive all of a sudden... Hope this is not misplaced as up until now I've been very downbeat and despairing of the tripe being served up by MH.......

Onwards and upwards..... Now where's that fishmonger....U R's

Ps was behind the goal in the LL last night and BZ's chip was sublime..... Messi like dare I say...

Nice to be in such a luxurious position and hope that Hughes et al can make the most of the talents at their disposal and in turn getting LR rocking and loads of fans going to away matches as we stand a chance of being competitive....

OK then please enlighten me on a few positive aspects with regards to Joey Barton? In any other walk of life bar none he would have been either struck off and or barred from being able to practice and or continue doing whatever job he was doing... I don't hate the guy I just hope that he never plays for us again that's all.. plus I still also think he's a vile individual.. you know absolutely nothing about me so how you can lambaste me with such authoritativeness is a little bit baffling to say the least... Joey Barton on the other hand has a list of misdemeanors that wouldn't embarrass any of last years rioters....

                This.

Ahr, this thread had nothing to do with Joey yet you turn it into the Joey show again with this comment:

Why? Youre just as bad as the people you are slagging off for being pro-Joey, absolute extremity in your views on him just at the other end of the scale. Brining him up out of nowhere just for a chance to have a pop at him? Get over him will ya - like him or not, he's going, you can dry your eyes now & find somebody else to have pops at out of the blue.

Joey Barton singled himself out, let's not suggest anything different. It's extremely difficult to keep supporting someone who consistently brings his club into disrepute, and embarrasses the owners who are trying to do everything the right way.

I would think Joey's ongoing behaviour could (and has?) negatively affect potential transfers (some players won't want to play along side him) and business deals (many companies would not want to be associated with his reputation). So, as a supporter of everything that's right for our club, it becomes increasingly difficult to support Joey even though he's a player for the club.

He has only himself, and no one else, to blame.

Having said all that, I wish him well and that one day he will experience the epiphany he needs to change for the better, for the long term. Though I think this is not likely to happen for sometimes, perhaps until age finally dampens the angry fires that burn within, and his self-awareness radically improves.

Don't know about anyone else, but it's not just on match day I get a buzz, it's also during the week when I read all sorts of things about our club. Good or bad, we seem to be in the news all the time. Other clubs discuss us on their MBs and there seems to be real dislike among other football fans. Suits me fine, it just shows They're jealous and see us as a potential threat.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.
