Originally posted by QPR Richard View PostHave to laugh when I read these statements on other fans forums. They clearly have no idea what's going on at QPR. For example, we've released more players than we've signed. Our net spend this summer is £1.5m net so far. According to Sky, we're 16/20 in spending terms this transfer window. Yes, we've probably paid out a fair bit in signing on fees, but that applies to every transfer these days. The board is working to a tight budget and would probably explain why we haven't signed Dawson yet because of what he wants. Our wage bill is down compared to last year.
The board knows the value of each contract it's giving to players, and what our budget is for the season. It also knows the projected TV revenues for the next few years and is taking a gamble on us staying up. What's that phrase, you have to speculate to accumulate?
We've got some seriously wealthy backers at our club, people who know how to create strong businesses. We're not run by a gang of chancers like other clubs have been. I suspect our new training ground will pay for itself through sponsorship, and likewise our new stadium. Our club is being promoted in the far east and while we ply our trade in the biggest and most popular league in the world, we will attract further investment and business deals. There are hordes of people who want to get involved in the EPL.
And to those who think we will go the way of Portsmouth, supporters from the likes of Stoke, Swansea and Sunderland, our club is not based in some rundown north east or midlands city, nor is it based in a public-sector reliant city like Swansea (DVLA), but is located in the capital, which is considered the world's greatest city, and to WHU fans, we are located in the best part of the city which is undergoing mass redevelopment.
There's a lot of bitterness and resentment around at the moment. Most clubs in the country would love to be in our shoes right now but they're not, and that's why so many people like to have a dig at us. Well, f@ck 'em. We've been to hell and back over the years and it's about time we had some good fortune.
Onwards and upwards!

Why are we worried what other fans think I'm only interested in my team and what M.H. does to blend them into a good Prem side, as long as we are not putting ourselves in financial peril , which the board assures us we are not, I don't give a F##k what other fans think of us, all the words that spring to mind
Jealousy Envy,
I dont hear Man city,Chelsea,Man utd,Arsenal, or Spurs fans complaining about Oh forgot their all spending and they've all got money, it seems to only be the others who know we may well leave them behind that are Whinging!
