Berbatov is a brilliant signing for Fulham IMO. Should cushion the blow for the fans after losing Dembele tbf

Fiorentina have had the mother of all hissy-fits abou the Berbatov u-turn

Fiorentina's official statement regarding Dimitar Berbatov:

ACF Fiorentina states that the deal of buying the footballer Dimitar Berbatov is officially cancelled after a deal was agreed with Manchester United and after a verbal agreement was reached with the footballer about his contract. Today, the English club allowed Berbatov to travel to Florence to undergo a medical and sign the contract. The player embarked, accompanied by his agent, with tickets paid by Fiorentina, on a flight directed to Florence. However the player never arrived in Florence. Because of reckless and arrogant operations made by other clubs, that have nothing to do with the values of fair play and sporting ethics and step over the boundaries of loyalty. Regarding the footballer, besides his technical characteristics, at this point we are happy he did not come to Fiorentina: he does not deserve our city or our shirt and the values they represent.
    Ethics and fair play?

You can chase down all the balls you like but if you want someone to stick it in the back of the net you can count on the fingers of one hand the players better than Berbatov. Will await for it to be confirmed tho'. If he has turned round at one airport he might do it again.

Hilarious. I bet their equivalent of Pete (Luigi?) was posting on their site "Berbatov is on the plane". Round about now he'll be posting his "things change in football" lecture.

not doubting his class-maverick on his day. a season that will tell all about him at fulham/his desire/his comedown from being top class/and dealing with the fact fulham got ahead of so many other top teams in for him. cisse over berba hands down.

Man Us top scorer season before last (22? or something like that) and last season still managed something like 12 goals despite hardly playing. think "his day" happens quite regularly. Not sure Cisse has performed consistently at the same level.

Have to laugh when I read these statements on other fans forums. They clearly have no idea what's going on at QPR. For example, we've released more players than we've signed. Our net spend this summer is £1.5m net so far. According to Sky, we're 16/20 in spending terms this transfer window. Yes, we've probably paid out a fair bit in signing on fees, but that applies to every transfer these days. The board is working to a tight budget and would probably explain why we haven't signed Dawson yet because of what he wants. Our wage bill is down compared to last year.

The board knows the value of each contract it's giving to players, and what our budget is for the season. It also knows the projected TV revenues for the next few years and is taking a gamble on us staying up. What's that phrase, you have to speculate to accumulate?

We've got some seriously wealthy backers at our club, people who know how to create strong businesses. We're not run by a gang of chancers like other clubs have been. I suspect our new training ground will pay for itself through sponsorship, and likewise our new stadium. Our club is being promoted in the far east and while we ply our trade in the biggest and most popular league in the world, we will attract further investment and business deals. There are hordes of people who want to get involved in the EPL.

And to those who think we will go the way of Portsmouth, supporters from the likes of Stoke, Swansea and Sunderland, our club is not based in some rundown north east or midlands city, nor is it based in a public-sector reliant city like Swansea (DVLA), but is located in the capital, which is considered the world's greatest city, and to WHU fans, we are located in the best part of the city which is undergoing mass redevelopment.

There's a lot of bitterness and resentment around at the moment. Most clubs in the country would love to be in our shoes right now but they're not, and that's why so many people like to have a dig at us. Well, f@ck 'em. We've been to hell and back over the years and it's about time we had some good fortune.

                Onwards and upwards!
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

''Signing old players on high wages with no resale value. Will they never learn.'' They are discussing Granero on this one, who's 25. Clueless.

                                Bunch of jealous clueless fans....

For the Sunderland fans mocking our policy.... hmmmm lets see, would i rather get Cesar, Nelsen, Bosingwa, Hoilett, Johnson, Green on frees, or play £24m for Johnson and Fletcher ()

Are they naive to think these players aren't on high wages comparable to ours??

Also i'm sure the likes of Oshea and Brown are on peanuts after leaving Utd.....

                                CLUELESS.
