I'd like to see him start tonight and see how he is goes over the 90 mins.

he played 60 mins against Millwall the other night and came through it alright

Hopefully Hughes has a last minute change of mind and puts him on the bench. Would like to see him at least feature tonight.

Kind of concerned about this as it was against a nothing team that he got injured (though it was away).

i'm sure i read a stat that said ali's '% of tackles won by a midfielder' was the best in the division up to his knee injury, and stayed that way for nearly 3 months after! he was easily the best tackling midfielder in the prem' until he got crocked and he'll be back soon

              joey who?

Not yet for me. More reserve time, and then god willing we beat Walsall tonight he should play 90 in the next round and then start getting sub appearances in the league. Last thing we want to do is rush him back to competitive football and aggravate his injury

His passing accuracy was right up there as well - where as "Hollywood Ball" Barton was one of the worst.

His return will add some much needed composure and quality in front of our defence.
