All these posters wistfully saying "he cd walk into our first team" seem to forget that mark hughes hasn't dropped him - due to barton's inability to control his anger he will be unavailable for the first third of the season. it is all over for him - but he was the one who ended it, not the club.

I've had enough of Barton now. All his Twitter stuff, his website etc he needs to realise it's not all about him.
What he did against Man City could easily have cost us our place in the PL. He let his team mates and the fans down in what was one of the most important games for us recently and that's not good enough.
As a player he would probably improve the team right now, but he comes with too much baggage. The sooner he goes the better, then we can all move on and he's someone else's problem.
As an aside, I've heard the term "Taliban" used before when a player is out in the cold and forced to train with the reserves or the yoofs so I don't think we should read too much in to that.

10 more games to go.....9 after tonight. It's a long time so if he doesn't sign for anyone else, there's always a chance to reconcile differences. Footballers and managers (despite what they claim) don't give a toss about fans or any club they play for. Paddy Kenny being a prime example, one minute milking the crowd and the next we're a tin pot club. Barton wants to play football and he's in our best 25 footballers. If after 10 games, he's still here...he'll want to play and we'll need him. Can see him playing for us again.

Latest tweet:
"Maybe this is time to dumb down and be dishonest. It seems to take you a long way in this game..."
What Joey? You mean not always grabbing everything and everyone by the jugular, and occasionally keeping your mouth shut, nodding and smiling to keep the peace and wider team spirit - even if you don't agree with something?
That doesn't just take you a long way in football Joey......

if he kept his head down, done the time , reacted positively he would probably be back in the team by January, but he is incapable of being this humble.
BTW he has about 50% games where he played well, the other 50% he was awful remember Liverpool??
