Yeah but just look at some of the 'quality' of the players we've signed and it's not hard to see why we are near he bottom of the spending league as it were and let's hope we are much higher up the PL at the end of the season after having been so prudent and judicious in the transfer market.....

This isn't to say we haven't made some huge bids, they simply haven't come off. Giroud confirmed the only other club to bid for him at £10.5m he was interested in was QPR but Arsenal had Champs Lge football and Dawson at £9m is digging his heels in. Also heard we'd had a bid accepted for Defoe but he wanted £100k a week and that was the end of that.

Slightly meaningless to put just the spend rather than net spend. Swansea of course have profitted over the window with the sale of Allen for £15M. We have avoided transfer fees but it doesnt mean you are saving money because you have to make up for it in wages and signing on fees.

They sold Joe Allen for 15 mil though. Sinclair should go for at least 5 mil and Michu they signed for 2 but will be able to sell on for at least 10. All very good business on their part.
