We have only had Rigg for 5 months and the scouting team have only just finished being assembled. Effective and productive scouting networks take far longer to establish than 5 months, with a little bit of patience, we will sign better players.

I agree that the signing of Caesar seems a bit ridiculous, but Hughes has ALWAYS stated he wanted 2 quality keepers, so when Kenny handed in a transfer request, it meant Hughes had to go into the market again. Caesar is class and for a free transfer is a ludicrously good piece of business for the club- very similar to Van De Saar joining Fulham after they went up. Instead of everyone viewing it in such a bad way, why not consider we have 2 very very good keepers battling for one spot- I can't remember the last time we had competition like that- especially in goal.

We will continue to sign out of contract older players with bags of experience until next summer IMO, by which point we should have identified 2/3 younger players we can bring in and then gradually reduce the average age of the squad whilst not risking our Premiership safety.
Laudrup seemed able to sign Ki and that great Spanish prospect of a striker within a few weeks of joining. Where is Rigg's fabled index of brilliant players across Europe? I don't buy this idea that it takes years to work. Sure, bringing players through the youth team and pinching academy players from other clubs is v much a long term project but it doesn't take any more time to sign the right pros now as it does the wrong ones.

Not signing at least two cb´s in this window does not make sense. But I don´t panic, as I´m sure we will! Dawson and Carvalho will do.

With Cesar in goal, who will reject us now.

            STAINROD-

Michu was brought in by Laudrup because he knew the Spanish League inside out, if we had scouts out there, which I imagine we will have from this season, we will be able to make similar signings. Even if he had signed most of the responses from fans would have been along the lines of ''why are we signing players for 2mil from some dodgy foreign team'' etc etc anyway.. As for Ki- everyone knew about him, we were in for him, he chose Swansea, move on.

It seems to me that at the moment, no matter what the club does in the transfer window, it's the wrong thing for most fans (myself not included). Would you rather they splashed £9-10mil on a youngster that turns out to be the next Kleberson or Djemba-Djemba? Or would you rather they waited, evaluated the options and signed players that they thought would genuinely work- ie Zabaleta, Kompany... In the meantime they sign players on free transfers with experience, thus putting the team in safe hands so to speak and build bit by bit- letting the team and club grow.

I guess however that for many of our fans that is too much to ask. We have waited years and years for this, but it seems many can't wait another season or two and want to spend all the money they can now. My opinion is that Mike Rigg is known throughout the industry as being one of the best at uncovering talent and was bought to QPR specifically to do that. Why don 't we just let them do it, Instead of continuing this barrage of negativity that is always around the club, when in actual fact, this is probably the best time to ever be a QPR fan.

Michu was one of the top scorers in the Spanish league last season - and his club was well known to be desperate for cash. Don't think you need thousands of scouts to tell you that. Ki not sure we even bid for in the end.
