Adel Taarabt

Taarabt didn't come on because of the earlier subs in my opinion, they meant he had to leave it till late on, and by then the need to get us off the mark points-wise was more pressing than risking it for all three.

There seems to be a feeling that Taarabt is too lightweight, and doen't have the fighting spirit. I'd say there aren't many players in our team that are stronger on the ball. Adel rarely i ever gets pushed off the ball. His decision making about when to release it does mean he concedes possession often though.

Mackie is also a strong player, much more direct, but he also concedes possession by making bad decisions and getting himself caught in blind alleys.

The end product from both players is actually quite similar, for all the abuse levelled at them from the stalwart fans of each player.

Tough decision for MH to make, and I'd suggest we see a lot of either one or the other.

Personally, I'd suggest the extra energy and pace that Mackie has is far more useful coming on when chasing a game than Taarabt, so I'd hope we'd see Adel starting more often.

But, we may see both on the bench when Ale is fully fit, and Park can play in the role wide right that he is patently more comfortable in.

2 goals & a couple of assists (Adel) v 8 goals & a couple os assists (Mackie) is not similar, one is decent return from a wide player, the other is **** poor.

He might have also played them in with one of his quality free kicks, like last week.

Being serious, Adel should have come on for Hoilett as he was pony.

Did you actually go to the game Paul? Hoilett was nowhere near the level of last week granted, but he was still involved and actually in the game. All be it not as effective as last week. Off the top of my head he played the ball into Cisse for the pen so he did something useful and productive.

Yet you ignore how bad Mackie was. He did nothing all game and certainly nothing productive? He mis controlled a 10 yard pass right in front of the away end. Oh and he had his head down and ran into defenders when he got the ball a lot. Once criminally when all he had to do was release Cisse.
