  • Centre Midfield

Park and Diakite are never going to get us anything.

Park is never a Centre Midfielder and Diakite positionally is a liability, proverbial headless chicken, all of which leaves our back four totally exposed. Cannot wait for Faurlin to get back in the side.

Hughes to me does not seem to have any idea of what his best formation is, 2 up front away at Norwich, 1 up front home to Swansea - very strange and somewhat worrying considering this is what he should work on in pre-season.

Shocked we have gone into the season with Park and Diakite as our CM pairing.

Been very disappointed in Park so far, very ordinary, in the centre anyway

mackie off park on the right, derry holding allowing diakite to be the box to box midfielder he is.

Nonsense. Derry should not play at this level.

derry should be at leeds. not good enough for a starting game in the hardest lge in the world-10mins back up at best. forget huddlestone-one good game in 20 and as slow as my nan and she passed away 10 years ago. ale/diakite should'nt be taken as a given to the solution-an injury and were back to square one. this is where our scouts earn their money.

Thought both Park and Diakite gave it a good go today but we do need someone with a bit of presence in midfield. Diakite seems affraid to tackle anyone this season and Park does get caught out of position.

Badly need a defensive midfield and dominant CB. See Mbia not in squad tonight so maybe he is one.

Didnt seem like that against swansea when he went in for a challenge and won the ball resulting in the referee for some strange reason giving a free kick against us.

Can't believe Ki went to swansea. They've scored 8 unanswered without him so far.. perhaps they won't do so badly this season afterall.
Diakite is definitely still suffering for lack of game time preseason.
We need to use Walsall wisely!

You couldnt have gone today then, clearly been told to calm his suckling down but affraid it's gone a little too far.

against swansea and today against norwich as soon as derry comes he calms the midfield down holds his position back and allows others to go forward and protects the back four something we definitely lack at the moment as park and diakite both like to get forward. even if derry isnt the long term answer it is someone of his playing style that we need as at the moment other teams seem to walk straight through the middle of us.

What a joke decision that was too, game is getting non contact year by year

The last two games have shown just how weak our midfield is. JSP made his name as a RM not a CM. Samba needs more game time. Derry is not quite up to this level any longer. Ale is a long way from match fitness. Ephraim is an unknown quantity at this level.

That, boys and girls, is our central midfield. It's all very well saying some players are versatile and can play anywhere, but can they do the job well enough? Most are agreed that SD and AF will eventually be our starting pair in the middle, but after that, we've had it. The last two games have shown we need to strengthen this area ASAP. If not, expect to see more teams walk the ball through the middle and put more pressure on our defence. Personally, I'd prefer us to use 4-2-3-1 away from home but we simply don't have the midfield players to do it.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.
