  • QPR could snare Cesar

Queens Park Rangers are set to conclude a deal for Julio Cesar today – and Mark Hughes plans to throw the goalkeeper straight into his starting line-up for Saturday’s clash with Norwich.

Hughes made his move for Cesar, who is surplus to requirements at Inter Milan, after Rob Green endured a nightmare debut as QPR crashed to a 5-0 defeat at home to Swansea in their opening Premier League game.

A bit harsh on Green though don't you think?

Why didn't we go for him in the first place?

Hughes definately reads this message board!!

Big statement dropping Green and putting Caesar straight in.

Risky move IMO, sends a bad message to the rest of the squad.

Because mh thought green was reliable then he saw him play in seven games and make 4 mistakes leading to a goal. Week he probably asks himself can I rely on green till January maybe not so let's get the 2009 best goalkeeper in the world voted By errr I can't remember it's on wiki lol great signing if he comes world class.

Great signing, but an uncomfortable one in other regards.

Very harsh on Green (though yea. he's not filled me with confidence either). Suggests his career @ QPR is almost finished before it started and he'll be a v expensive bench warmer. Not great from a business perspective either.
All somewhat strange, to be honest. Why did they sign him in the first place? I presume they had seen him play !

Fair comment every opinion counts, I just think we should have bought more sensibly first time round and not gone for Green.

DouDou, the message it gives is play well or suffer the consequences !

How the message is you make 4 mistakes out of 7 games you will be dropped.

No, for the reason that Green needs better competition than Cerny and Murphy IMO.

                            Exactly.

It's patently obvious that Rob Green is not "mentally" there at the moment for what ever reason. Just look at his face of late - he's looks vacant and terrified........ The club simply cannot afford a weak link like that when the stakes are so high.

No room for sentiment in football.

well there is another way of looking at it, we got two good goalkeepers if we get Cesar, I know many think green is sh@t but he be a great backup if needed
