  • New National Sport..........QPR Bashing??

I 'm beginning to think this is new past time in this country at the moment.Just been watching the paper review on SSN and the Express are running a story asking whether we are panic buying or doing good deals. How come there isn't a media witch hunt going after Scumsea, have they seen how much they have spent this summer?
The FA have apparently looked at our owners and done fit persons check on them and are happy, so that's good enough.....isn't it? There is alot of talk about re-sale value, RVP to Man Utd, any re-sale value there? If we buy only to resell then what?....we are a selling club?
Seems to me Queens Park Rangers have no right to try and better ourselves in the eyes of most in this country, I'm getting a bit sick of it now, we have reputable business men running our club, unlike before......mind you T&C were better in media terms cause we were a laughing stock.

West Ham fan ain't he? How come a club who had a million pound of debt that is far from cleared able to spend like they are I wonder. They've just lashed out £11mill on a winger, yet still owe Sheff Utd £10mill how come no one's questioning their finances?
Edit meant to put £100 mill debt..........

Bit like Soton, they've spent something like £45mill on a few players this summer, PLUS bidding £11.8mill on ANOTHER player, yet we've spent a total of approx £5.5mill (£3.5m Diakite, £2m Park?) and have a lower wage bill than we did last season yet we're being classed as throwing money aorund n called big spenders
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

It's a no win situation for us, we don't spend and get slated for not having a go . We do spend and all of a sudden we are living outside our means . Tony and co are too astute to put the club in danger and the whole thing just stinks of jealousy . Other clubs would kill to have the backing we have and clubs like Swansea would love to have the lure of the capital. Many see us as trying to punch above our weight but that's always been the case, we are envied because of the clout we now have and I love it !!

It'll pass, but to be frank we've made ourselves a very inviting target.

As Mellow says, the results on the pitch are key; a few good results in a row and the press coverage will become much more favourable and QPR's buying policy will be portrayed as shrewd and canny. Somebody said earlier that we can't win; yes we can, by doing it on the pitch, simples.

If you look at that SSN transfer totaliser thingy, it shows overall spend and the highest spenders in the window. It also shows who has signed the most which is obviously us. Why then, do we not appear on the highest spends top ten list then. Because we haven't spend any where near as much as other Clubs. I would say (accounting for the release of 14 senior pros) the business we have done so far is nowhere near as open to criticism and abuse as some. £15M for Joe Allen, £10M and £14M for a couple of average Wolves rejects being bought by 2 Clubs with far less disposal cash than us, yet everyone jumps on the Rangers bashing bandwagon! Laughable really

We are panic buying. Window is about to shut, and we're only team in the league looking for goalkeeper and defenders.

Don't really matter when you buy players though, if they're good enough for the team is what matters. It's like the people who moan about late goals, it don't matter when you score. A goal is a goal. As long as we have the squad to survive in the PL, that's all I care about. Not what the media/other fans think.
