Even though it's silly season with the transfer window deadline coming, with what seems the improving chances of signing Dawson, Mbia and now Carvalho. That is most likely 2 x CB and Mbia at DM. We are going to have some serious wages at the club with a lot of it on the bench or in the stands.

Super excited about all 3 but any other people out there slightly worried about the money the club seems to be throwing around. I know we have TF and the Mittals etc but this can't be near sustainable. We have plans for a new ground but that is a long way off. I guess releasing / selling the likes of Hall,Kenny,Helguson etc will offset some of this and it's not our problem as supporters. Just slightly worried about the Leeds/Portsmouth effect even though TF seems to sharp enough to know what he's doing.

How I see it also. So so so much dough in the PL as of next year, being in it is a must. Splashing a bit of money to ensure that happens will pay for itself 10 fold. Relegation simply cannot happen.

If we stay up we will have trouble getting shot of high earning bench warmers next year. Eg Campbell,Hulse,Boothroyd this year who don't want to drop wages

I'm a little worried. On the upside the club is a PR vehicle for Fernandes so his reputation is at stake, which makes me think he won't walk away easily.

Its not long ago that there were bucket collections to buy jamie cureton for what - 50k maybe?

I dont see why we cant work with the proven premier league defenders we have in Ferdinand, Onuha, Fabio, Bosingwa, Traore, Nelson, Hill etc rather than splash such a large amount on a player with a suspect injury record. We have got a large coaching staff that should surely be able to coach these guys into a solid defensive unit.

I want to be excited about breaking our transfer record but its hard to shake the nagging feeling that we are throwing money at every problem

I know the world tv rights for the PL is renewed this summer and is reported to be massive which will obviously help. It just seems a bit of a knee jerk after Sat although it could of been happening behind the scenes before.

Seems like the club have nicked my saved game off Football Manager 12

I think, as a whole, us Rangers fans are still stuck in the days of being a skint club struggling to make ends meet (me included). This whole subject of spending PL money on PL players is alien to us and we seem to be getting a bit jittery and the thought of it all. We need to remember we are PL now, and our owners arent content with sitting as we are, they want to press onwards and upwards, and the only way to do so is to spend some cash and try to ensure your PL status.

Its onyl normal to have concerns, especially considering how far weve come in a short space of time, and taking into account what happened at Pompey, but I really do have 100% faith in TF and whats he's doing for the club. He has constantly reiterated his plan to make us as sustainable club, which he has backed up with cracking some of the Asian market, gettign academy status back, employing a quality scouting network etc. This, combined with the fact we have no debt to any outside parties (Pompeys big mistake) and the the fact Mittal is on board and worth circa £18 billion - makes me very very happy with the hands we are in and I, personally, am enjoying every minute of all this!

We have to invest and make sure we stay in the PL next season as the money coming in is huge.It is estimated that clubs will receive between £150-170m next season will will cover all these transfers. The only thing that goes in our favour in the money being spent is actually our shareholders and not loans from outside so we are not in predicament that if we go down were screwed. TF knows what his doing and also understands the financial possibilities that will come our way by staying in the prem.

We've all said all summer we need at least 1 maybe 2 CB's. I'm sure plans have been on the table in the background, including the potential of Samba in Jan, however, Saturdays result will have sharpened the thinking and focused the urgency. Forget waiting until Jan, or even the end of this month, lets not waste any more time.

Also, people always mentione TF and the Mittals, but forget about TF's 2 partners, in what effectively is a small consortium.. Ruben and another. They are both worth similar amounts as TF himself, so between them they have about £1 billion.
