Can't help feeling this whole thing is going to come crashing down around us. One or two older experienced players,ok. But another 34 year old in a defence where the average age is already about...33 or so??
You mean the scouting system that's still recruiting scouts as of yesterday?

We have got to stop being so impatient. Although the same could be said for our current player recruitment strategy.

They are definitely still saying 'in principle' in the reports.

Your latter statement meant in a positive way, I reckon?:=):
I would have liked to be a fly on the wall in the negotiation room now...

I've got Sky Sports News on in the background as working from home. Still only agreed in principle, which in effect means nothing really....

It would be a problem if they were to play together, but they won't.

for now it ok, Clint Hill and Ryan Nelsonis are on more or less one year deal, Carvalho is one season loan deal only.

we get some younger players in next summer

34 or not, Carvalho is world class and I'd have him here in a heartbeat.

Also, lets not forget Madrid want to ship him out, and as at his age there are not likely to be too many takers on a perm deal, the loan will suit them and us. They may be paying some of his wages as part of the agreement for all we know....

Apparently CB's don't need to be able to actually run in practice, although a thorough grounding on the theory of same may well be an advantage.
Spirited hobbling and leaning/falling in the right direction can be employed to great advantage in all but the trickiest situations. As you were gentlemen.

He would be a brilliant signing. Absolute class act. 34 is not ancient by any means and if paired with the right player at CB would be fantastic.

Superb CB, the fact Mourinho has taken him wherever he has gone speaks volumes of how good he is. Obviosuly no pace, but his experience and game reading ability is right up there with the very best in the game. Him & Dawson CB would be absolutley brilliant IMHO.
True, but Dawson has no pace either. It will only work if QPR's defence push up no further that the edge of the centre circle. Otherwise long or incisive passes will leave them well off the pace.

Just posted this in the twitter thread but makes more sense here:

                              Very interesting quote from Mouriniho:

"I can't confirm anything with QPR," Mourinho stated. "I don't even know if the information is correct or not because they've told me that Dawson has signed for QPR for £9 million – if they've signed Dawson, I don't know if they'll be interested in Carvalho."

Who is "they've told me"? and why would anybody tell him we had signed Dawson for 9 million?
