The thought of us spending £9m on a 28 year old defender, who recently had a very nasty injury, plus, I would imagine not unsubstantial wages, scares me a little.
I'm still not fully adjusted to the full reality of being in the Prem, and what we will need to do to ensure we're still in it next season when the gravy train gets gravier...
I remember that we fell out of the Prem, just before the first big money TV deal, and it cost us dearly then.

QPR line up cut-price defender deal
MICHAEL Dawson is set to be the surprise new signing that brings a semblance of defensive normality to QPR – but the Spurs centre back will cost nowhere near a reported £10 million
In fact, the 28 year-old, (pic) surplus to needs in north London, could sign in the next 24 hours for closer to £3m as Spurs look to offload Tom Huddlestone as well

Am i the only one just a bit concerned we're possibly splashing serious money on a player who's yet to be seen if he returns from a serious injury the same player...? I hope he will be as good as he was, but many players never recover past forms after long niggly dragged out injuries so i have some concerns. That said, if he is ok, then he is a top player. I just hope the intention is to get Mbia or Zoumba also.
