No emotion in this analysis

We have played two of the tipped favorites for relegation this season and taken 2 points. The first one at home where we manage a lucky cross to get out of jail. The second we take the lead and then let it slip 3 minutes into injury time.

Question - In both games we created plenty of chances & were solid at the back for large parts of both games. Why did we not manage wins?

Question - When a relatively poor championship side in Plymouth try and take the game to us after falling behind, why don't we have it in us to score a 2nd and in some cases 3rd goal?

There is one simple answer, we don't have enough up front against sides in this division. Thats why I write this report from my PC at this time rather than making a thoroughly disappointing 200 mile trip back from Plymouth!

I am trying not to be too down, but as I was looking at the results and it went from 1-0 to 1-1, I could not help myself thinking same old Rangers.

The answer is that we do not know how to kill the game off when we are in front. It is something we should learn how to do!

I suppose you could say (if you believe pundits) that at least we are creating chances.By all accounts our first two games we have created a hat ful of chances, they have just not been converted to goals.if we are to advance this year, we have to start putting these chances away....simple.We are really, the same team that ended last season,Faurlin and Pellicori not really been in the team, Delaney out Borrowdale in....so its the same team as last year, which many feel is an average championship team.

Didn't look like that yesterday.
The CM were sitting too deep and inviting Plymouth to attack.
And with the toothlessness up front, increasing our lead was never going to happen and letting in an equaliser was.

Many years ago, in the George Graham 1-0 era, I had a row with an Arsenal supporter and stated that I would rather draw a game playing entertaining football than win like they did. I hope I am not going to have to put that theory to the test this season.

Thing is, we'll probably end up scoring goals and winning games in which we don't create as many chances.
