  • QPR wants Spurs defender Dawson

QPR looking to add steel at the back with Spurs centre half Dawson

Queens Park Rangers are monitoring Michael Dawson as doubts linger over his Tottenham future.

Manager Mark Hughes is keen to bring in a centre back after watching Barcelona's Andreu Fontas, 22, and Kurt Zouma of St Etienne.

Dawson, 28, was left out of Saturday's defeat at Newcastle and question marks remain over team-mates Tom Huddlestone and David Bentley.

Dawson would be a great signing!!!!! I'd be very surprised if doesn't end up at a bigger club!!

That would be a great signing! Although he is quite injury-prone.

Top class defender when he is fit.

Has had his injuries but certainly a step up from what we've got. I would also take Huddlestone if his future is doubtful.

Agree with Hove, Huddlestone seems well unsettled there and, tbh, cant seem him getting much game time, I wouldnt mind him at all, bit of a beast of a CM, owuld certainly shore things up. I know we have Diakite & Ale, but strength in depth is certainly required to stay in this league.

agree with all above regards Dawson, when fit, he is a top CB, far better than any we currently have.

Dawson is a centre back for Spurs. Very good player but has been plagued by injuries recently. Been capped a few times by England. I vaguely remember an interview with Didier Drobga a few years back asking who the toughest defender he had played against was and he said it was Dawson.

Not sure myself.... Yes good when fit, but can he stay fit? He wouldn't be cheap either, especially as Levy demands top money for players so I could see him being at least £6m and I'm not sure that's wise when you'd have to assume there's more chance of him breaking down and being out months than other options.

Would be a great signing. Is good defender and he is a LEADER.

He won't come to us though.
