Looks like Ki Sung Yeung is heading to Swansea. Thought this was nailed on for us. DJ, Smith, Connolly, on their way, Hulse and Bothroyd not given squad numbers, HH already gone, Barton as good as gone. I think we're going to be weak in certain areas. My guess is outfield will be split 9/9/4.

In defence we are down eight, Bosingwa/Dyer - Hill/Nelsen/Ferdinand/Onouha - Traore/Fabio

In midfield we have nine, SWP/Mackie - Park/Diakite/Derry/Faurlin/Ephraim - Hoilett/Taarabt

Up front just three, Cisse, Zamora, Johnson

IMO, Dyer's fitness can't be relied on, and I'd much rather we moved Fabio to RB as cover for Bosingwa, and got a LB to cover Traore. We all know we need a CB.

In midfield, Derry will purely be cover and Faurlin is a long way from match fitness. For me, Ephraim isn't good enough and we need a midfielder. What happens if Park or Diakite pick up an injury? Saturday I'm sure must've proved to a lot of people we are short of options in this area.

Up front, just three strikers. We have to get another one in.

If Ki does eventually sign for Swansea, I will be gutted. I think this lad has a good future in the EPL and would've gone a long way to solving our midfield problems. We have been crying out for a top class CB for a long time. None of the options we have fill me with confidence. With only three forwards on the books, we simply have to get another one.

The reality I'm afraid, is that we are still well short in all outfield areas. I think our shopping is far from complete and I'm expecting a minimum of two and possibly three to come. We've got just 11 days left to sort it.

Dont worry about Ki, hes not the priority, a CB is.

also ref your list, why have you got Dyer as a defender... that won't happen under Hughes.

Dyer's played there, but even if you put him in the midfield group it leaves us with seven. I'm not counting the U21s. Would you consider our midfield complete if Dyer plays there?

Don't think midfield is the problem. We need centre backs. We created chances, another day we would have scored at least 2/3. No excuses for lazy defending

Yeah he has under a different manager and the first time he made a challenge with his glass foot he got injured. He is never and will never be a defender. I'm not saying by adding him to the midfield it would be complete, but there are enough options not to worry about midfield.

we do need to worry about the centre of our defence and it needs strenthening. Matt Connolly gets slated by many on here but he would've been better that Anton / Hill and onouha at CB the other day, no doubt whatsoever. He won't get a chance though so we need new CB's and fast.

Ki would be a luxury our needs are elsewhere ,strong holding defensive m/fieelder, 1 or 2 strong c/backs, and another striker would come a long way before Ki
