Team for Norwich

The problem with the team on Saturday is that instead of the formation being attack minded ie, 4231, or 433, it reverted to a 451, leaving Cisse isolated and as a result completely inefectual with little service.
On paper the below lineups aren't bad
..................Green
onouha...Anton... Hill....Fabio
.........Diakite....Park
Mackie.....Taarabt...Hoilett
................Cisse
Or
..................Green
onouha...Anton... Hill....Fabio
..Mackie......Diakite....Park
..Taarabt....Cisse...Hoilett
But we ended up far too deep with
..................Green
...onouha...Anton... Hill....Fabio
Mackie..Park..Diakite...Taarabt..Hoilett
...................Cisse
For me against Norwich Nelsen MUST play, as should Bosingwa if fit enough (even without a pre season, top players nowadays have targets through the summer and stay very fit, just lacking match fitness, but sure he'll be fit enough for Norwich). If not Fabio RB as he was pre season, and Traore LB.
......................Green
Bosingwa / Fabio...Nelsen...Ferdinand...Fabio / Traore
SWP.......Park......Diakite.....Hoilett
..................Taarabt / Zamora
................Cisse
We can't have the luxury of a striker of Cisse's quality and then effectively render him null and void by playing a system that just doesn't suit. He needs a permanent support act, either Taarabt in the hole, or Zamora next to him, but either way we need to link with him better.Last edited by Del; 20-08-2012, 11:44 AM.

The problem is, without Barton and Faurlin, if we leave Derry out, we have no-one who breaks up the opposition play or tackles in midfield. Faurlin is 6 - 8 weeks away, Barton will never feature for the first team again, so Derry is a must.
Diakite is not good enough at tackling or reading the game to play this role and Park is too lightweight.
This would be my team (despite the fact I thought Green was absolutely Sh* te)
Green
Bosingwa Ferdinand Onuaha Traore
Hoillet Park Derry Taarabt
Zamora Johnson
Problem is we don't have any better CB's than Onuah,Hill & Ferdinand at the moment, and Traore may still be out with the ankle injury. Last season Tarb's best performances were when he played out left. Cisse is great if he can shoot first time, but his first touch when not in a position to score is awful. If you look at his goals last season all were scored with his first touch. Johnson looked good in pre-season and has a point to prove to MH22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

diamond with wing backs
green
bosingwa ferdinand nelson traore/fabio
diakate
park hoilett/tarbs
tarbs/hoilett
cisse zamora
keep diakate a bit deeper so the full backs can get forward with it also slightly narrower in midfield. and put whichever out of tarbs and hoilett that can accommodate the more central midfield role or the slightly more forward free roling AM positions besti supported qpr in the glory days when chris kiwomya and michael ngonge played up front

4-2-3-1
It doesn't matter who plays in the back four, however they line up we lack specialist position defenders. Until a decent CB turns up might as well draw them out of a hat... Nelsen and AF prolly the best bet. How the tactical genius of Hughes' team with the enthiusiastic support of the board ended up with an extra hole right we're we don't need one I'll never know. At least no one can say we're boring. Bring it on!
