    Forget Samba. £12m Transfer fee & £90k a week. Won't happen.

We haven't got a bottomless pit.

Pleased to see others are finally beginning to realise this.

Neds can do a job at RB defensively and using his pace, but going forward he offers absolutely nothing.

Disagree. I don't think Ned can do a job at RB. Well he can, but not a good one
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

              Couple of things

              1) Does anyone know why Luke Young has just dissapeared into thin air

              2) Could Boswinga do a job at CB have a vague memory of him doing OK there for Chelsea on occasion in the past

Luke Young is injured last I heard. Bosingwa has done a good job as a makeshift centreback, but we need him at full back more.

Defence is the most important place to have players in and settled and knowing each others games, it's mind blowing to me why our team hasn't got a solid foundation. Defending is a team activity, and think our defence is getting the shitty end of the blame stick. Midfield didn't offer enough protection.

The big worry for me is lack of leadership. Park is not captain material imho. Good for club image, bad for on the pitch taking charge.

                  Totally agree.

The midfield did nothing to protect the back four. Tactically it seemed all wrong.

In the tough times on the pitch the captain issue could be a negative although when Adel was captain the senior players Derry etc could be seen to doing that job

I couldn't believe how come key areas were not addressed, and assumed it must be because something was in the pipeline, ie Samba in Jan. But then the whole question of specialist, proven, class defenders - as opposed to cover players like Nelsen - seemed to be completely ignored, which was totally mystifying. Throw Rob Green into this incendiary mix and you have the recipe for a meltdown, which duly happened. All this talk of new stadiums means SFA when the abyss beckons, therefore investment in quality defenders takes on an added significance. Given the stated ambitions of our owner(s), you'd have thought that someone would have sussed that out.

The fact is that relatively speaking, they're still trying to do it on the cheap, it's a Warnock policy applied to the EPL instead of the championship, but the chances that Hughes will be shown the door in a couple of months time are zilch, even if his record is worse than Colin's. We have midfielders at the club who can cover the back four, the problem remains at the heart of the defence. If Boswinga could recover his best form, than maybe.... the CBs and GK have to be the foundation, first names on the sheet. At least we all know how serious this is now.
