  • THE NEED OF 4-4-1-1 formation

Im trying my hardest to understand the lack of teamwork as our players were not given enough time to get organized.

    But the defense line...

They always had to empty the back whenever QPR was attacking.

It is due to lack of ball keeping upfront which eventually led the defenders' aids.

Taarabt... as I mentioned b4, he is sheer talent yet lacks wide vision and team-play, quite selfish player.

    Fabio is somehow too offensive-minded.

We needed, Ryan Nelson at the back, rather than having Ferdinand, and I really hope we test out M'bia as soon as he arrives.

Cisse, looked good as always, but couldn't cope with attack all by himself, no-one really helped him.

Thereby we need a new, balanced formation 4-4-1-1

Bosingwa... Yes Let's see how we can use him.

    -------------------Green--------------------

    --------------Nelson----M' bia---------------

    Bosingwa-------------------------N.Onuoha
    -------------Diakite----(S.Y Ki)--------------
    Hoilett----------------------------------Park
    -----------------Zamoura-------------------

    -------------------Cisse---------------------

Sub: Fabio, SWP, Taarabt, J.M, Faulin, etc...

    Room for improvement

    1. Restrict the ball keeping time to 4 seconds at maximum in normal circumstances

    2. Nelson, M'bia remain at the back to stablise the pace and defense.

    3. 1 <=> 1 system; when Boshingwa runs for overlapping, Onuoha remains at the back so at least 3 backs can be formed, and vice versa.

    4. Buy Ki who can actually make perfect passes, control the pace, maestro all the players.

    5. Buy another CB to encourage competition.

    6. Train Taarabt in a way that he could follow the team-spirit after training.

    7. All the players including Cisse, come down to help defending, keep pressurizing upfront.

    8. The four backs and 2 CMFs tighten the distance among themselves, always have to show Web-like complexity to the opposing players.

    9. Set-piece training. 2 fullbacks waiting at the back in case of counter, (Ki) if bought, wait at the end of the penalty area for the second ball, Cisse, 2 CBs, 1 Winger, Zamoura involve in header-takings. Meanwhile, the other Winger at the edge of the penalty box for the second crosses coming.

    10. Communicate alot!!! This is of paramount importance to all the footballers.

If Ki comes, we could go with Counter&Pressure&Pacy tactics

    I hope he does come.

              I'd rather a 5-3-1-1

              Green

              Fabio Bosingwa Nelson Hill Traore

              Park Diakite Faurlin

              Hoilett

              Cisse

2 solid cb plus 1 with pace who can come out. Bos and hill can cover full back position when fab and traore push up. 3 cm who can tackle and cover and play it simple then rely on junior and cisse to link up with fab and traore. Easy peasy

this would be good formation to use in second half, when players tire out

Agreed, he has to improve that part. But on his day, he can do that. Guess it was Mr. Hughes who told him to go for the goal at all costs yesterday. But again I think he is too selfish and runs into blind alleys when not needed. A bit like Mr. Mackie in that respect.
