Cisse didnīt even try. Just strolled about on the pitch. Mackie did at least put some efforts in it.

Mackie over him all day for me.
I don't disagree that 4 or 5 were worse than him. The 4 or 5 that were worse was a surprise as they had shockers. But they dont play like that every week. As Hammersmith says this was Mackie and his usual self. It was a fairly standard performance from him and he was very poor. Just think he has so much to offer when he comes on in games. He can finish and his efforts get him plenty of chances against tired legs. Just not good enough to start.
Harsh on SWP. He came on at right back in a defence that had shipped 4 or 5. He is not a right back. He did nothing granted but what could he do?

Originally posted by MattyRangers View PostThe thing with Cisse yesterday was, IMO, Hughes getting the tactics all wrong. Cisse is not a lone striker that comes deep to pick the ball up, he was so ineffective yesterday as this is what he was forced to do - he needs a big man, ie Zamora, alongside him.

Mackies positional play is strange at best. I accept it might not be his natural position but he has been playing there long enough. Several times yesterday the whole of the upper loft screamed at him to get wide when onouha had the ball, but instead mackie went in to the centre. At other times when hoilett had the ball on the left, and mackie should have been tucking in, he was stood out wide on the touch line.

I am being harsh on him tbf, but at the end that perfect ball Park dinked over to him he wacked into the crowd. I know Mackies no world bester but Id sooner have him than SWP starting. Personally, wouldnt have either though. Id have Park RM, Hoilet LM & Diakite & Adel CM as the squad currently is.
