I personally really hoped we'd have spent about £2m to get Robinson from Blackburn and said as much at the time, but it didn't happen and we got Green. I was never a big fan, but admittedly was influenced by that mistake for england..... at the end of the day he must have something about him to have got in the england squad in the first place, when, at the time there was competition. That said, people need to stop calling him England's number 2, because the truth is half the better keepers have retired from International football, such as Robinson and Foster.

Anyway, he is a decent keeper no doubt about it, but has just made a shocking start to his QPR career. The first goal was a shocker and the fact he was trying to palm it away rather than just gather the ball led to the problem... he got 2 hands to it, so why not stop it..? He tried to push it away, fluffed it and let it in for a cheap goal. He then had the corner where again he could've just caught the ball but opted to punch and it went sideways nearly costing a goal..... sort it out.

However, i feel those mistakes are disquising the fact he wasn't the main culprit in the game for our debacle. He cost us 1 goal, no more. The defending by Anton, Clint and Onouha was diabolical at best. People are slating Fabio but i disagree as he's clearly been instructed to get forward loads and support / link with Adel / Hoilett. He therefore has an excuse for being out of position. The others were woeful and not only didn't pick up anyone, but made schoolboy errors all day and gifted the ball to the Swansea constantly when we had players upfield and were then left outnumbered at the back and punished.

Back to Green, i hope he makes a couple of good saves against Norwich and regains confidence and moves forward to become a very good keeper for us... West Ham fans rave about him, and it wouldnt be for nothing.

My main concern is the defence which needs sorting, as does MH's decisions, which have rarely been questioned until saturday... why move Onouha into CB, where he's been useless, particularly with Anton as a pair, and bring SWP on at RB!! SWP has been on fire pre season, so for me should've started instead of Mackie who didnt get a single good ball into the box all game and ran into people as usual, plus dollied a sitter. If he wanted SWP on he shouldve replaced Mackie, and to sort the CB's out shouldve brought on Nelsen.
I agree on many of these points.

Green has made errors, but he is a good keeper. Robinson and Foster would possibly have been better options, but it is too late now.

The defence was appalling and to blame Green is OTT. yes he was at fault for the 1st, but why didnt the defence react quicker to stop the shot? Where was the defending for the other goals? no one oicked up Michu for the 2nd. Hill slid in to cut out a pass and missed the ball. Onouha hit a stray pass to Ferdinand which was ponced on. Fabio had an attempted pass cut out. All in all, the defenders played as if that had just met 10 mins before kick off. Three of them were regulars in the second half of last season.

Hopefully, Nelsen and Bosingwa will step in and perform better, but I would still like a commanding centre half and a left footed left back signed.

Hughes decison making and tactics have again left a lot to be desired as they were against Chelsea in April.

Mackie is best used as an impact sub and should not be starting games when there are other good options available.

I don't discount your opinion at all, I just didn't agree with your comment. And for the record I certainly don't think the opinions of people who are older or more experienced, such as yourself, count for nothing. Far from it.
No i judge it on his track record and his demeanour,he does not exactly fill me with confidence and he has played 3 games for us and 3 clangers that says it all, believe me i want him to improve but
as i stated when he signed not the best tool in the box.

With regard to older peoples/fans opinions you are a breath of fresh air and the exception to the rule.

Don't usually post but some of the bile on here and in the upper loft Saturday whch was directed at OUR keeper was nothing short of embarrassing! Yes he made a mistake for the first goal but we need to get behind our players and not destroy them. Yes we are entitled to an opinion but as the end of last season showed we are more powerfull as supporters when we get behind the team rather than single out individuals for abuse.

I live in Dubai and only get to HQ 3-4 times a season but given some of the idiots who surrounded me yesterday supposedly supporting the team I am glad I watch at home or at the comfort of the Dubai Rs supporters club.

I thought we all wanted the same thing???

I think you'll find he was far from $hite for West Ham if you actually speak to any fans that go and will speak to you honetsly about him. A few I know all reckon they wouldnt have got promotion without him.

People on here slating Green after ONE competitive game. Seriously grow up and support the team and our players. Whether you like him or not he is OUR no.1 this season. If you think he's short of confidence how about encouraging and showing faith in him.

Same idiots who slated Diakite and Taiwo in January no doubt.

This won't be the last f**k up from Green this season for sure. He's now had 3 in 3 games for us. In this league mistakes will cost us points and we can ill afford that. Just because he is ours doesn't mean we're gonna have to support him for every mistake he is going to make this season. It will be a long old season if he stays as our number one. My own choice in the summer was Ben Foster.
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

Sadly, it seems it's Green's turn to be the new Furlong, Helguson etc. Anyone recall the abuse dished out on here last season to Jason Puncheon? Not good enough for us and never a premier league player based on what exactly, a 5 minute cameo performance as a sub in one game.........................I give you Man City away on Sunday, you know, the Champions of the Premier League against Southampton with the very same player who performed admirably for 90 minutes. When subbed in stoppage time, the expert's said he had put in a great shift, played really well and caused City plenty of problems......................but he is/was dog turd that shouldn't be in league 1, let alone the PL and with Rangers......... how dare he.
I'm not saying he was/is a world beater and I'm not saying he would have turned out to be a quality player for Rangers but the way he was slated and abused without being given even half a chance is just as sad as what's happening already with Green.

Unfortunately for you we didn't sign foster. Any player who pulls on a QPR shirt gets my backing whether I like them or not. Goalkeepers make mistakes, people seem to forget the mistakes Kenny made last year and there was plenty of them. Nevertheless deal with the fact we have Green and support him. Form is temporary, class is permanent. And Green is class.

Guys - take a deep breath. If you dont have faith in him keep quiet if you support him cheer. The worst thing for a new player is to have a start like he did. I agree not my first choice. Personally would have love Butland or Foster. One of greatest ever keepers Jan Steyskal was terrible at the start, he had the same pedigree as Green but came through it to be a legend.
We must support him or it will never get any better.
