Alright guys, West ham fan here, in peace as the name suggests

Decided to have a look at how Mr.Green was received this weekend, and well...never have I seen reaction like it! I thought our fans were fickle, but not on this level!

This guy is one of the main reasons we are back in the league, the amount of times he has saved us in the last few years has been incredible, so much so he is often talked about as the second best keeper in our 110 year odd history. Of course I wasn't at the game, but having seen this guy play home and away for 5 years you can tell playing behind the likes of Anton (oh dear Jar Jar binks....) and Onuoha (right back...?) is always going to be difficult...I think I have seen calls that Paddy Kenny is the better goalkeeper? Radek Cerny? They must have played what...less than 100 games at the top level added together? Green has 250+, which is enough to suggest there is some sort of quality there, fair?

Having seen the goals, admittedly again I wasn't there, First goal was soft and I haven't seen him make that sort of mistake for us in 5 years. Second...well...wave that one goodbye. Third...whipped bottom corner, saveable? No chance. Fourth...12 yards out, on the half volley, no chance. Fifth....well if you think the guy should have saved it, see Joe Hart vs Saints today, saveable? Not a chance in hell.

After Robert Green's mistake In the 2010 World Cup match against the USA the 2010/11 Season was always going to big one for him. After a shaky and nervy star...

From after the world cup - check it out.

Give the guy a chance, he'll come good, it wasn't go long ago Fabio Capello rated him as England's best goalkeeper agree with it or not, he's plenty good enough for QPR if he is supported.

He will deliver, widely known as the squads model professional and hardest trainer at West Ham, your goalkeeper coach is the one that pushed Hughes to sign him. Give the lad a chance!

All the best for the season

Well after yesterday he can't get any worse, surely!

He's now played 3 games for us including pre season and he has cocked up 3 times.

We still have 37 more league games this season!

He fills me with no confidence. I have never seen such a quiet keeper. Granted he couldn't save some of the goals, but he made no effort to f**king ####### his back 4!

don't think shouting at the back 4 would have done much, they were nowhere to be seen for the goals! He isn't a Schmeichel screamer granted, maybe next time one goes in he'll knock Shaun Derry out or who ever is closest, to justify the goal to the fans ;)

I was well chuffed when we signed him, think he is a top keeper. In an Rs shirt, can only go but what Ive seen as Saturday was terrible. Still, fingers crosse dit was a bad day at the office and he goes on to make alot of us fans eat some humble pie.

PS: Never thought Id see the day a West Ham fan posted sensibley on here, Im used to the garbage that Hammer posts

Well I was in the pub yesterday with out fellow QPR fans and they said they would rather Kenny in goal. I inclined to agree with them as I liked Kenny and was made a scape goat on here last season.

I remember saying at the time "be careful what you wish for" and I was right.

Kenny the worst kicker passer of a ball I've seen in goal for a long time... All keepers have pros and cons... Fabio was appalling and will be sent off twice or more this season. No disipline.. Defence on a whole was awful...

Everyone saying Paddy is the answer, take a reality check..... He was responsible for many goals last year. he had to move on.

I personally really hoped we'd have spent about £2m to get Robinson from Blackburn and said as much at the time, but it didn't happen and we got Green. I was never a big fan, but admittedly was influenced by that mistake for england..... at the end of the day he must have something about him to have got in the england squad in the first place, when, at the time there was competition. That said, people need to stop calling him England's number 2, because the truth is half the better keepers have retired from International football, such as Robinson and Foster.

Anyway, he is a decent keeper no doubt about it, but has just made a shocking start to his QPR career. The first goal was a shocker and the fact he was trying to palm it away rather than just gather the ball led to the problem... he got 2 hands to it, so why not stop it..? He tried to push it away, fluffed it and let it in for a cheap goal. He then had the corner where again he could've just caught the ball but opted to punch and it went sideways nearly costing a goal..... sort it out.

However, i feel those mistakes are disquising the fact he wasn't the main culprit in the game for our debacle. He cost us 1 goal, no more. The defending by Anton, Clint and Onouha was diabolical at best. People are slating Fabio but i disagree as he's clearly been instructed to get forward loads and support / link with Adel / Hoilett. He therefore has an excuse for being out of position. The others were woeful and not only didn't pick up anyone, but made schoolboy errors all day and gifted the ball to the Swansea constantly when we had players upfield and were then left outnumbered at the back and punished.

Back to Green, i hope he makes a couple of good saves against Norwich and regains confidence and moves forward to become a very good keeper for us... West Ham fans rave about him, and it wouldnt be for nothing.

My main concern is the defence which needs sorting, as does MH's decisions, which have rarely been questioned until saturday... why move Onouha into CB, where he's been useless, particularly with Anton as a pair, and bring SWP on at RB!! SWP has been on fire pre season, so for me should've started instead of Mackie who didnt get a single good ball into the box all game and ran into people as usual, plus dollied a sitter. If he wanted SWP on he shouldve replaced Mackie, and to sort the CB's out shouldve brought on Nelsen.

That's fair enough- but is it not incredibly harsh to judge a keeper after 1 game. Did you form your opinions on the other great keepers you have seen over the years after just 1 match?

I don't discount your opinion at all, I just didn't agree with your comment. And for the record I certainly don't think the opinions of people who are older or more experienced, such as yourself, count for nothing. Far from it.
