  • I haven't read all the replies so apologies if already mentioned but according to a West Ham fan mate of mine, Rob Green was a slow starter there too. When he moved from Norwich, he lacked confidence, didn't look at home. Then grew into it and never looked back.

Could mean something, nothing. Could have a blinder next game which will turn this thread upside down.

Defense was all over the place on Sat, no shape, leader, big voice keeping the line. Spaces in between mid and defence. That's what needs addressing and I'm sure it has.

So it was Green who lost possession over and over again or gave away stupid passes that led to goals. We can blame Green for Onouha's stray pass or Hill's attempt to cut the pass out or Fabio's pass charged down etc.

Maybe the defence don't have a lot of confidence in him...or maybe it's the other way round.

Green was poor on tour, but so were the defence and Hughes should have acted sooner to remedy these problem areas.

why is it that there are 13 weeks in pre-season to put squads together and work on tactics, yet most managers wait unril the season has kicked off to start looking at areas of the squad that need strengthening?

Warnock has an excuse last season due to the previous owners wanting out, but Hughes has had all summer with a settled and helpful Board, yet has left us with only one keeper likely to feature regularly and only 3 or 4 CB's none of them are dominant in the air two of them are in their 30s and the other two are inconsistent.

Well said. Imagine the pressure he had on his debut day as well.

Goalkeepers are in the spotlight after a week of gaffes... how do they cope with the mental toll of football’s loneliest job? Sportsmail's Matt Barlow has been investigating.

Check the part about Green, he'll come good, without doubt

          • Good luck today Rob Green

I'd like to wish our new keeper the best of luck today and hope he has a good game.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

            • How can Green play today in the knowledge that we are actively looking to replace him. If we thought he was not confident last week how will he feel now.

Shouldn't really be a problem. Cerny should be starting today, we already know he can handle being number two in the pecking order, the few games he played last season were a credit to both himself, and our club.
All this faffing about with Green will cost us valuable points, we know he drops clangers regularly, let's deal with that now, while there are still 37 games to go, and let's not wait until we get to a situation where we are locking the gate long after the horse has bolted.

                    • You just know he will have a stinker and drop a few gaffs for the simple reason he's playing one of his old teams.
