  • Fabrice Muamba....

Announces retirement from the game, sad news that he never got to make a comeback game IMO

Tis very sad, but tbf, looking back at the incident now, its near on a miracle the lad is even alive, let alone he was considering playing professional football again. Just glad he has his health back. Might sound proper gay but I remember when he walked onto the pitch before the Spurs Bolton game, after his recovery, and the crowd give him a standing ovation, made the hairs on me neck stand up!

    Seems a genuinally nice lad.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Is sad for him, but i think was always inevitable really.

As Del says, sad but inevitable. The piece of equipment that will keep him alive also prevents him from playing the game he lives for - how ironic is that.

Yep - indeed to all comments above.
A shame that at such a young age he's had to change his entire future plans...wish him all the best.

There's a theory that the sympathy vote brought BW together and helped them collect a few points, and the stats show that post Muamba collapse they did improve. A bit of a desperate strategy mind ;) While no one would wish that upon anyone, I did find the saturation coverage bizarre given that at the time the world was in a bit of a mess (no change there), and other people were having heart attacks who did not enjoy the support of the nation, but that says more about media values than the player. Good luck to him in whatever he decides to do.

More than a therory methinks, the nation love nothing more than a spotlighted sob story ,in the 79 minutues his heart stopped how many people died did any body ( the press) give a ####??
