  • QPR ace Adel Taarabt can't wait to get started against Swansea

ADEL TAARABT wants to give big-spending QPR lift off to the new season by gunning down the Swans again.

“I always seem to play well and score goals against them. They must hate playing against me and will probably be sick of the sight of me. They do play very good football but that just seems to bring the best out of my game. I’m hoping I will be given a chance to play again and it’s important we start well.”
    ...
And Taarabt, 23, says his only target is finding a way into Mark Hughes’ new-look side following the summer spree.
    ...
He added: “I think I have matured as a player and was happy to sign the new contract. There have been a lot of new faces, with all the signings, and these are some exciting times. I want to be part of that. The club is getting bigger and bigger, with a new training ground and talk of a new stadium. Last year our aim was to stay in the Premier League. We achieved that and now we want to progress and improve.”

He seems to be only slightly confident about this match, doesn't he?
Haven't seen him this confident in a long time. Well we all know a confident Adel Taarabt is usually very dangerous...To both us and the opposition but hopefully more to them

Also, nice to see he's happy here at QPR. He knows there will be competition for starting places, but it seems he's willing to really work for that. Good on him. Imo I think he will live up to those expectations that was set on him at the end of our championship winning season.
"When you went to the corner and saw our fans celebrating the way they were you just wanted to be part of it" - Shaun Derry after we beat the scum 1-0

he seems to mature a bit, it is time for him to blossom, he has the talent around him, the coaches confidence and the fans backing him up. this is the year of the Taarabt

Taarabt needs to be less selfish. He seems very skilled gifted footballer. But he needs to learn how to use his teammates

He has. The year we came up he was very greedy, but at that level you could afford to be (as his record that season shows), then at the start of last year he tried playing the same way and found out, the hard way, that doesnt work in the PL (unless you're Cristiano Ronaldo!) and, back end of last year, he was a lot more of a team player and, thus, a lot better player himself. Even remember him tracking back and tackling (yes, tackling!) Kyle Walker in the Spuds home game :pleasantsuprise:

Cant wait to see him perform this year, thing he will be a huge player for us.

perfect game for him to set his season up. They've never dealt with him and he's ran the show against them every time at LR. if he gets on the score sheet and/or has a stormer great things i hope for the other 37 games.

there was a thread up here re who should be the new captain...well he's done it before - and we won the league with him as our main man....just a thought....

The worst possible candidate for Captain imo

As much as he is great player and I delighted he has decided to commit to QPR there is no doubt in my mind he is a complete stroppy tw@t who has zero leadership skills and is far to immature to lead our team.

I bet he can't. & Mackie, he's scored in his last 3 games against Swansea
                    Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                    And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

This. We got away with it the the CCC as he was just different class to the others. In the PL you need a proper leader, cant afford to give the armband to somebody just to fluff an ego. Adel looks alot better player without that responsability in the PL anyway. Nelson or Hill, whichever start, will be skipper IMO, and will stay that way unless Sparkie signs somebody he has in line to be skipper.
