ROY HODGSON has *expressed his hope that John Terry will beat a *Football Association charge of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand and “be free to play for England”.

He should be up before the FA with Terry he is condoning what Terry said, t"""p0t :yush:

Well surely this will have an impact on the FA verdict? There own employee basically telling them not to hit him too hard, agree he should be up before the FA himself maybe sacked, as there is no doubt the words were used, and it's only his word that he was repeating them

Yeah, I mean, John Terry is crucial to England's chances of qualifying for the world cup, and then winning it.

I heard that also, veru ill advised and naive imo. Almost as stupid as Dalglish's public statements about Suarez.

Thought Roy might be the man to take England forward,? but his remarks are ill timed also why would he now be hoping that Terry will be able to play for England again? surely now Terry has had his time and Roy should be moving on to find younger players for the world cup, if he persist with playing the old guard we then know why England will never be back amongst the leading football nations I'm affraid it's time to ditch Gerrard Lampard Terry Barry & the rest of the old boys

Woy is as dull as f***......a true FA man who will never rock a boat.

                    Maybe his comments were misconstrued?

I'd agree with all of them except Gerrard. He's still top class and there's nobody better at what he does. He was brilliant in the euros, even though his game was stifled by the negative tactics, but he was still superb and probably showed his best England form for years.

with roy or without roy, with terry or without terry - england are average. i might be called too pessimistic but it's my opinion but even the "young fresh blood" in the team is not good enough. everyone's talking about wilshere, oxlade, smalling etc...they are not world class players.
english players get paid too much by their clubs and therefore fully expect to be internationals without having to work for it. the moment your english and bought by a big club, you've made the 23 man international squad without having to work for it.
i cannot see england win a trophy in my lifetime - and i'm in my 20s.

international football needs a shake up. central contracts please.

Agree with that except central contracts? How would that work? Players not allowed to play for their clubs? I don't get how it would help.
