No chance it will be Taarabt.....

Between Nelsen & Anton I think.

Could be a laugh giving it to Djibril..

Hope Anton doesn't get it, he's well over rated IMO and we should be looking to replace. I'm going for nelson or park
This isnt just goodbye, this is i cant stand you!

As said before Park can't communicate well enough in English to do what a captain needs to do. He can lead by example yes, but for me he's not a captain. You need a skipper to get hold of people and sort them out when needed, calm them down when needed, and give them encouragement when needed. They must be strong talkers and Park isn't. Neither is Anton. Hill won't start many games imo, Taarabt is not MH's type of captain as too volotile, which leaves Nelsen who is tried and tested at top prem level and nationally. He has all the attributes and will play. No brainer for me.

I don't have a clue. At a guess, Nelsen or Park
            Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
            And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

I think on a permanent basis it will be Nelsen. However since he has only just returned from the Olympics MH is waiting for him to settle in and might use somebody else for a couple of games.

I agree with mackie, he does lift the team and always gives 100%. He would lead by example, but i cant see MH starting him every week, maybe use him more as an impact sub. You need a captain in your regular starting 11. If we dont sign another CB, i would give it to Clint

Hill for me and I would be happy if he plays every game as the defense seems to be more organised when he is in it.

Why wait till kick off to choose? Maybe a new signing is being lined up to become captain? Personally I would have Clint Hill as captain, I prefer him to Nelsen anyway. Also if this Taarabt being captain rumour is true, then I can see why..he likes to have all the focus on him and then plqys very well e.g 2 seasons ago

No problem with Adel being made captain - it seems to bring the best out of him.

And there are a few real "captains" out there anyway - just like a couple of years ago.... And we all know how that went......

I doubt that the players will have to wait until then, my guess is they know the coup but we are being kept in suspenders for the theatre of it :impatient:

You need someone with more leadership qualities in the prem because it won't be plain sailing more often than not, and in that situation you can't have a captain who's liable to sulk. Also i think Adel will find himself off the pitch or subbed quite a bit this season as i think MH will mix it up and rotate players / formations depending on the opposition and with Hoilett, SWP, Mackie and Park, even Traore all in the mix for his favoured wide position he isnt a guaranteed starter every game imo.

When he was captain in the championship of course he had a great season, but we were generally winning and had reason to be happy. Even so, he also had tantrums / sulks / toys out the pram moments when not going his way. Thoe moments will be escalated in the prem so not for me.

Also, for what it's worth, although his stats speak volumes in the championship, for me he played his best football in the last 10 games of the prem last year, where he not only had moments of brilliance, he also added to the party a hunger and desire to work for the team that was sorely lacking under NW.
