  • Taraabt and traore called up for international duty.

@OfficialQPR: R’s duo Armand Traore and Adel Taarabt have been called up to represent their respective countries next week #QPR... http://t.co/Wm5lHPQZ

Why can't we just say no?

That would be great for player morale wouldn't it?

There's a full raft of international games next week, this'll be the same for everybody.

I agree it's a stupid time for an international, but at least this year it's before the season starts, rather than the second week, like last year.

Tell them they're injured and pull them out as Fergie would do!

Exactly. The top teams will lose most of their first teams.

There will be some pulled no doubt, but bear in mind it normally easier to "conjure up and injury" because the international means the clubs don't play for a week or so, whereas this friendly is 3 days before games take place. It would therefore be far more obvious clubs are BSing if they pull players who are fine straight after and they could be hit for it.

International friendlies right before a competative domestic fixture should be banned, load of b0llox.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

I thought Adel was refusing to play for Morocco while Eric Gerets remains as boss?

                        Or was that last month?

All the years we've waited, and been desperate to have international quality players, and now we have a couple (and that is way less than most Prem teams), we complain because it's inconvenient when international games come along.

Timing could be better, but this early friendly week has been the same for years. I'd be all for moving it to a few weeks later, but short of abandoning the concept of international football, what are the other options?

Hopefully they both play and don't just sit on the bench.

I'd rather they sat on the bench to be honest

Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
