.......still no CB and defence not significantly stronger than at Stamford Bridge for that hiding. Had all summer to address it. Cue "don't panic we've got until end of August" and "we can still loan after that" etc. etc. but we've had all summer to address this.

Personally, i think we need better ability at the back, not just 'more quality'.
Kind of getting the feeling that MH may be done in the transfer market for now. I hope not, but things seem to be very quiet lately. The season starts in just over a week and we've still not addressed the CF, CM, CB areas as many of us would've hoped. At this late stage it's going to be a problem integrating 2or 3 more players into the team so I think what we have will be what he goes with.
Hope I'm wrong and we sign at least another CB and a covering LB, but I'm not hopeful.Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

I wish we had signed that key centre back already but I do honestly think it will be done before the end of this month.
And we have got only 2 Premier League games this month so i'm not worriedUnder Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
And many more mistakes

Because Nelson has been absent and because someone said he isn't very good and because he has the nerve to be over 30, apparently he won't be part of our defence. But, he will be, because he is a very good, experienced and trusted defender.
So we have a new (and better) centre back, a new (and better) right back in Fabio and a new (and much better) goalkeeper. If we do not add anyone else, we have markedly improved our defence, if we sign more, then great. If we don't, we can rest easy in the knowledge that we won't have to rely on Hall, Gabbidon or Perone at any stage this season. What's not to like?#standuptocancer

Do Man Utd need to revamp their defence as they leaked 6 against City, or Chelsea who leaked 5 against Arsenal, or Arsenal who leaked 8 at Utd..... Generally no, they are off days... we will all have a couple this season no doubt also, get used to them and move on.
Nelson is a class act and will surprise a few fans clearly as so many seem dismissive of his ability, also Fabio is a top player. Not sure what some fans expect for a club that just scraped survival.

Transfers work like dominoes falling. Once one happens others will fall into place.
It's not us doing things slowly, a club isn't going to sell us a player unless they have got someone to replace him. Perfect example appears to be Defoe. Spurs are clearly waiting to get a striker or 2 in before letting him go. Think it is the same thing with defenders and we will see a few more come in before the end of the window.

Not sure I agree about the midfield necessarily being a better screen for the defence, at least to start. Faurlin was there for the first half of last season and he is by far and away our best tackler. He prob isn't going to be back this side of November. Barton is all but out of the door. At the moment we have Diakite in the middle and that's about it, unless we play Park or Fabio out of position there. Other than that its Derry, who we all love but who is now about 96.
As for defence, we have lost Taiwo who was v strong in the run in, and from what people are saying Onouha might be played centrally where he certainly hasn't convinced so far, while Traore looked fabulous going forward but was often caught in possession when played at left back. Clint was a rock at centre half in the run in but wd be worried if we were relying on him again. Nelsen is still a good player by all accounts but is he the really tough tackling centre half to compliment Anton?
Its fair comment to say as fans we are growing spoilt. We should certainly score enough goals to stay up but I still see us leaking too many goals to make top half.
