Always amuses me when people debate about what players are earning. I don't have my company's customers debating what I earn. It's sod all to do with them. It's between me and my boss. Would you be willing to discuss your salary in public?
      You seem very angry.

Maybe a spell on the Fleetwood forums may help you get your head back in the game.

Agreed. His answer was not " just talk" . His words were those of a battler, and I like a battler.

So do I ! He's got too much passion for the game if anything, many players don't have enough....He just needs to reel it in a bit (or maybe a lot).

Say it quietly, but I know he wasn't angry. I just pretended he was for the purposes of a 'joke'.

It appears I'm very much in the minority for thinking it's lovely words from Joey about proving his worth, after what is a very difficult time for him,, but it would have been nice to see some of this application and desire to prove himself in the games before he got booed off the pitch.

My mention of the wages were merely because he was likely one of the main wage earners, and for a large chunk of the season didn't look as if he deserved to be. he was captain in name only, much like Adel the year before, but with the massive difference being Adel was our best player in the promotion year. Consider the wage difference between him and Mackie, and the difference in attitude.

If he must return to us (I realise I'm in the minority in hoping he doesn't), then I hope for QPR's sake he is a new man and a new player. For our sake. That it might turn his life around is a happy side-effect.

I see what you mean, and I´dont think you are in the minority, in that respect. But I think we should appreciate how much of a burden he actually carried on his shoulders in the early stages of the season. Yes, he did cost us a lot of money, but so did Cisse and to a certain extent Samba as well. Another point I would to make is that to me it seemed like the ref´s were always keeping an eye on Barton just so they could punish him on "merit" If I dare to say that. I do also perfecly know that personal issues is just that, but I found him very brave and straightforward when he went public with how unproffesional Warnock and his staff did they training. That´s a pluss in my book regarding Barton. You do also mention Mackie, I do really admire him and his guts, so lets hope Barton will look to him how to behave when/if provoked if he ever come back in the team again, which I in reality strongely doubt really. I guess Hughes has got other plans.:=):

Here we go again, Barton repentant, ad nauseam.

Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:

i disagree that his wages are none of our business , barton represents our club and we dig deep for the admission money, im a barton fan and personally dont think he did much wrong , yes he should not have kicked aguero but he didnt ask kompany or ballotelli to confront him . the ball is now in bartons court as to whether or not he can keep a lid on his temper . personally i dont care what he earns as long as he gives his all in each and every game

You don't think he did much wrong?

I would also not care if he gave his all in each and every game. Unfortunately due to his own actions he is not available for at least 12 games and likely half the season if he is left out of the squad for the first half.

I just think last season in footballing terms he wasnt very good. A handful of games he played well but on the whole was very poor. Passing at time was atrocious, corners and free kicks were a joke but what surprised me most was how easily teams ran through him. Alot of blame has been put on our defence but some blame must be put on midfield players allowing teams to set up camp in our half. Not sure his suspension will adversely effect us.

I don't think QPR fans were after him, those good performances were often greeted with much more applause than deserved considering he is an established premiership player. I just think he failed to deliver and as they say you got to walk the talk at this level due to the margin of error being so small, that's why top players earn so much. I hope his performances improve but if not I wouldn't be upset if he was in the window come January.

Well, we pay admission to watch a game of football. We also pay for shopping and bills, but do we query how much the staff of these companies earn?

Personally I don't give a stuff what the players earn. That's between the club and players. I only care how they perform for QPR.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.
