According to a twitter rumour (@ITK_TRANSFER) Hughes is talking to three players at some point this week. This guy´s hit rate quite good.

Although, interestingly, the official site acknowledges that DJ kept up his "impressive pre-season form" with another goal.
I just wonder if Hughes may hold on to the DJ if he keeps scoring in these reserve games?

I think the signing of Johnson was the end ofr DJ. At the end of the day neither would start, and you assume if he needs to add a pacy striker he will opt for AJ, who is his man, not DJ.... so not much point him staying.

I think also that MH will play around woth various fluid attacking formations. As well as a front 2, he may play with 1 up and 1 behind, 1 up with 2 wingers just behind, or a straight front 3. In those set ups the likes of Hoilett, Taarabt, SWP, Mackie, Park, even Fabio potentially if used occasionally upfield all come into reckoning as attacking players also.

I think you are right about DJ, may be he is trying hard to get a decent move instead of to impress Hughes.
As for the various formations available, it's going to be so interesting to see how Hughes sets up as the season moves along.
This is going to be the most exciting time to be a Rangers fan, ever, and after 43 years of watching them that says all I need to know about this revolution.
